Rev 10:11

11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
KJV

What is it that John must prophecy again, and when? Thanks

Rev 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

He was to Prophesy "THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST" as it was being UNVEILED to him.

When? ......John has been doing that for 2,000 yrs. through the book of Revelation, and will continue to do it. But then again, so has Peter, James, Matt., Mark, Luke, Paul, Titus, Jude..........etc. etc.......

As we also should be:....2Co 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Rev 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

Rev 22:10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Remember that the word translated "prophesy" doesn't necessarily mean a predictive utterance. In its general sense it just means a telling of God's message. Also, the KJV is in the minority of reputable translations when it uses the word "before". Many others use the word "about".

Nevertheless, I don't think either of these points make much of a difference in this case. If you read Revelation as *mostly* chronological as I do (there are exceptions), then it's clear that John did indeed go on to prophesy further. In fact, in the very next chapter we see him talking about the 2 witnesses and the introduction of the 7th Trumpet. In fact, he pretty much prophesies throughout the entire remainder of the book.

Is there something in particular about this verse that's bothering you?

I don't find the Holy Scriptures to be bothering, why did you ask such a question? What's bothering you?
I simply asked (perhaps using a poor choice of words) to see if you had other questions about the verse or if my explanation was understandable. No ill intent I assure you.

As for what's bothering me, I don't have the time to go into it all ;-)

Leading up to 1844 there was a Christian revival movement destroying the error of post-millennialism and a-millennialism - that also predicted the 2nd coming in 1844.

So destroying error was good - but the predicted date for a pre-mill second coming was in error. ( No 2nd coming date predictions are possible until we are right at that event and God tells somebody.)

So then that group (called Millerites at the time) were called to proclaim the 3 angel's messages of Rev 14. They had already proclaimed the first and second angel's messages leading up to 1844.

But after that event they were to then preach the 3rd angels message.

"You must prophecy again" --

Like the faithful disciples on palm Sunday predicting the soon coronation of Jesus as Messiah-King of Israel -- the first message regarding Christ's second coming was sweet as honey to the group in the 1830's and 40's - predicting a near - soon coming appearance of Christ. But when it did not happen they suffered what many call even to this day "the great disappointment".

However to help them along after that huge disappointment God blessed that group by sending a great number of inspired visions and dreams to a small number of people (3 or 4) - giving special direction for these last days.

In Rev 11, 12, 13 - you find that all of them mention the 1260 years of dark ages persecution of the saints - that ended in 1798 and that lead up to that great event in 1844.

in Christ,

Bob

I believe it is shown here...

Revelation 14:1-6

King James Version (KJV)

14 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

I'll say it again mog144...and this is the true answer. I'm not being sarcastic.

The plain answer is because the angel said so. What do you want John to do, be disobedient?

John is receiving instruction as to what to write in this prophecy throughout the book of Revelation:

In Rev 1:19 Jesus Himself tells John:
Therefore write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after these things.

He is told what to write in every instance:

Rev 2:1:
“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write...

Rev 2:8:
8 “And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write:

Rev 2:12:
12 “And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write:

Rev 2:18:
18 “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write:

Rev 3:1:
“To the angel of the church in Sardis write:

Rev 3:7
7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:

Rev 3:14:
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

From Rev chapters 4-10 John is writing what he sees and hears in the Spirit.

At Chapter 10:11 the angel tells him:
11 And they *said to me, “You must prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.”

He does just that in chapter 11.

He must prophecy again because he is told to.

Are you looking for something more?

When it comes to interpretation, there are symbols, images, and metaphors all through Revelation...some of these you are told what they are, others you have to look at other OT and NT prophecies to understand.

The plain answer to you question is because John is told to do so...and he does it in chapter 11.

John receives (The Scroll ) And at first the beauty of it was pleasing to him until he experienced ( The Hardship of Propagating ) and living the truth .

Take the little Scroll and eat it up , meaning for he would have understanding of what would happen when the comforter comes , This scroll that Yowkhanan is being told to memorize it , So it will be bitter in your belly , because you have to face what it says to do because of it's prescribed laws from The Most High , you have difficulty living it so it becomes hard to digest ; but as for when it is in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey , for those who do good and adhere to the warnings true understanding of them and is bitter , full of woe to those who ignore the signs in it

Verse 9 . ASo I went unto the Malak and said to him ; Give me the little scroll so he said ; Take the little scroll and eat it up , So it will be bitter in your belly , But as for when it is in your mouth it will will be as sweet as honey . < King James Version ( Hebrew -Greek ) Key Word Study Bible >

And I Yowkhanan , took the little scroll , from the hand of the Malachi Zodoq , who is Melchizedek '' leader of the deities , supreme deity '' and ate it up so it became sweet in my mouth like honey , which is one of the miracle foods from The Most High because it can purify and heal the body of aliments . But when I Swallowed it after reading it and digested its meaning , it became bitter in my belly after the truthfulness and reality of its words were grievous to Yowkhanan .

Verse 10 . And I Yowkhanan took the little scroll from the hand of the Malak and ate it up so it because sweet in my mouth like honey but when I swallowed it , it became bitter in My Belly .

John is told how he will Prophesy again after the Book of Revelation .

And he , Malachi Zodoq said to me This a must for you , John , to prophesy again meaning he not only had to receive and trcord the Book of Revealtion but he also had to spread the world of the coming prophet who would receive the little scroll to nation and tribes and tongues and many rulers of people through out the world . He also would records his on scroll for two years , the Book of John .

Thank you Sodoq Zacharias, in reference to a paragraph you wrote and to clarify some details, do you then suppose that another prophet for the "end-time" brings the message of the little scroll? Will we receive another or new Revelation of Messiah that will also be the "Testimony of Christ?

That is a terrible view! It doesn't even make sense!

John closes his Revelation out himself:
Rev 22:18-21:

18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book;
19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

I think that's pretty clear right there that John was done with his Revelation.

If you don't think so fine but I certainly don't look for anything more.

Also I point this out that which John said in Rev 22:10-12:
10 And he *said to me, “ Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.
11 Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy.”
12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

"The time is near"??? He said that to John, yet we have people thinking the "near" is today. I really don't get that. Show how "near" spoken to John in 70 A.D. means today or anytime after today.

If you're looking for anything but Jesus to return, you're in for a BIG surprise!

I know opposing views exist but I can't fathom how we don't understand much of this has already occurred.

I used to think that too...but it never did set well with me because it simply didn't make sense.

I'm still working some things but I certainly don't look for a future tribulation nor The Beast or false prophet.

Wrong. Scripture interprets scripture.

Read Rev 10:11 you find:
11 And they *said to me, “You must prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.”

This is a continuous prophecy that John is receiving by revelation...so he continues to prophecy. I will show you he does that in the very next chapter:

11:9
9 Those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.

11:18:
18 And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

As you go on reading Revelation you will find John continues to prophecy about nations, or peoples, or tongues or kings. He's doing just as Rev 10:11 said he would.

All you do is let the scripture interpret itself.

I have already posted that, so I am well aware of it. I added nothing...did you read those verses? They do nothing but confirm exactly what Rev 10:11 said. So even *if* I am incorrect (which I seriously doubt), what I referred to is right there in the book of Revelation. So how did I add or take away anything that is already written?

Basically you're just attempting to wrongly assert something that is not.

So show me anything I made up. Everything I said is scripture. So how did I make it up when I used scripture?

Now...if you think I'm misapplying the scripture I quoted (though I think not), that's another thing altogether. But I made up nothing.

In Rev 11, 12, 13 - you find that all of them mention the 1260 years of dark ages persecution of the saints - that ended in 1798 and that lead up to that great event in 1844.

in Christ,

Bob
Hi Bob,
I feel for the expectant faithful, waiting for Christ's Second Coming back in 1844. Every Generation believes Christ will return in it's life time, including this one. After all, doesn't vanity teach that we are so important that it must happen on our watch?

With that said, here is one way of looking at it:

When you become creator of the world, I might consider what you say.

Since that will never be...you continue to post whatever the superfulous verbiage you post is...and hopefully there's enough true gospel in it for you to find the truth.
