Monday morning I cut myself. Please Help. I don't know what to do. I know I need help and I know what I did was wrong.

You are not alone in this action. There are plenty of folks with this type of a problem. I'm not sure this is the site you need to go. There are also sites at CF that deal with mental problems.

But the most important thing you can do is see a doctor right away. A phycriatist ( spelling ? ) deals with these types of problems. You also need to contact the Mental Health Dept. in your area and make an appointment.

The advice I can give you in your faith is to GIVE IT ALL TO GOD

GOD demands that you give HIM your WHOLE heart, mind, strength, and soul. That means you go in prayer and tell GOD that you will do this and from that moment on seek GOD in all your decisions. Then pick up GOD'S ROAD MAP to the KINGDOM of ALMIGHTY GOD ( BIBLE ) and start reading the NEW TESTIMENT till the next time you read it you will already know what IT'S going to say. For then it's locked in your heart to draw from for the rest of your life. You will NEVER be sorry you did.

After this is complete GOD will know. For HE searches the heart. HE will then send HIS HOLY SPIRIT ( ANOINTED-BORN AGAIN- SAVED ). For it is then that you shall receive the MISSION GOD has for just you and supply all your needs, even what you have not the ability to have.

There is no reason you can't do it both RIGHT NOW!

Do yourself a BIG FAVOR and Start right now!!!

It's important to move forward, whenever we do things we feel guilty over. Jesus paid the price for this. For anything we have done. You are repentant, and that's a good thing. Maybe still fearful of potentials, but that is not the issue. God has redeemed you. He cares about what is going on.

Lord, show Staying Strong what is going on inside her that has led her to this impulse. Use Your unique healing power, and insight of her whole life's situation to laser-target only the things that need work. Flood her with Your peace.

So true.

Sometimes people haven't been able to tell anyone what upset them, because there was nobody trustworthy to tell. Or the situation wasn't quite right for people to hear.

It would be helpful to surround yourself with people that you trust will love you and listen when you need to talk. Then give the critical/toxic/demanding/draining people a time-out for a while. Do what you need to, to take care of yourself.

It's tough, this kind of thing happens when the current situation overtakes you and you don't know how to cope the future looks grim to you. You have to focus on the fact that the situation your in right now is not permanent it will change. When I get into a hopeless situation I read Psalms then watch a movie to get my mind off of the current situation. Don't do harm to yourself as you body is a temple it is the temple of your life and soul.

I know this feels frightening to you. Don't be afraid. You're not alone - there are many young women that have this. Like Heron posted above, please check out the Self Injury forum so that you can connect with those who are going through the same thing. In the meanwhile, turn to God when you feel emotional pain ... Please come to the self injury support forum, sweetie, there are a lot of us there who know how you feel and can support you.
There are a lot of things you can do to help cope with this... there's a list of ideas here.

Is there anyone you can talk with in real life about this, and about what makes you feel so desperate? It does help, if you can find someone who you trust.

Above all, remember that God loves you, that is unconditional and doesn't depend on anything you do or don't do. He sees your pain and He is holding you tight, sweetie.

If you need someone to talk to, please PM me.. I have been there, and I know how it feels.

What you did was wrong only because you hurt yourself. You did not hurt anyone else, and you do not need to feel guilty.

You already know that you need help, and that is a very important thing to realise. It means that you are already more than half way to finding help. Go to see your doctor, and ask for a referral. And remember, this is not your fault; you would not have chosen to do this, had you not been driven to it by circumstances.

Very often cutting is a means of bringing oneself out of a dissociative state, induced by trauma of one kind or another. If this is true for you, then a therapist can help you to find other methods of coping with dissociation, and other ways to achieve grounding.

Thanks everyone for your input. It has helped. I will check out the self injury support forum as well. I am waiting to hear back from a psychologist yet if I can go to them. For now I have been talking to this counselor at my school..but there are not many trustworthy people I can talk to. I have been through a lot of trauma...so it's no surprise that I have resorted to this. Thanks everyone for everything.

Life IS a trauma..
"All creation groans in pain from the beginning til now" (Romans 8:22)

But Christianity teaches us how to roll with the punches life throws at us.
Remember- "God didn't spare his own son" (Rom 8:32) so why should we have it any easier?

So let's just ride it out and go for broke..

I went through a really rough patch for a while but I'm getting help and making it through. I'm figting. I want to feel better, and I am perserveering through times of great trial.

Thanks for keeping us in mind -- that was thoughtful.
I hope some healing comes through in the next few months... depression seems to self-propel and land people in a place they don't find reason to get out of. Make sure you get outside, talk with friends, and go to some places you've never been.

I am getting help...as much as I can.
That sounds like a good idea...get out of the house...Sometimes it is hard to see the reason why I should keep going...but even then I will keep moving forward. It's hard for me to get out, or even to jsut talk with friends sometimes, and I certainly don't have a lot of energy. Teens are supposed to be upbeat...active...full of energy...I'm never full of energy...it stinks.

Please Help!
