  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay for orchestra we have to do a project about a famous composer, Practice paper, compose music or something else music related. Well I was trying to find something that I could do that would still leave me time to do my homework, practice and ride my horse. Well I decided to write a freestlye dressage test to music by famous composers, becuse that would leave me time to ride. But here's my problem I don't know any good songs to do it to. They/it need(s) to have slow parts and faster parts - lots of change in tempo. Does anyone know any?? (It has to be an orchestra - Bach or Betoveen (spelling??) are some good ones)

Thanx

I have some good ones in mind but they're a bit too long. :sorry: I'll keep in eye out. (I'm in a symphony thing so I see that kinda music a LOT) well considering your in an orchestra, why don't you try doing some of your past music? is there a certain composer it must be done by?

I found some interesting stuff. Check this out:

Schubert - Piano Quintet in A, D. 667 ("The Trout") -
I think most of the movements are about the right length, but I don't think it has enough tempo changes

Handel - Music for the Royal Fireworks -
Most of these are too short, although they're very famous. The overture (first movement) is the right length (about eight minutes). Maybe it sounds a bit too pompous though :p

Dvořák - Slavonic Dances -
Some of these might work.

Dvořák - String Quartet in F, Op. 96 ("American")
The Finale (4th movement) is what I like here. I don't know what tempos you want, but it's got tempo changes. It has about three fast-ish sections with slower sections in between. Altogether, though, it's just over 5 minutes, which might be too short. But be sure to give it a listen. It's great.

I'm sorry... I'm very partial to quartet music. :)
