My husband has been showing a growing interest in my recent search/study. Whenever I am reading the boards, and I have any kind of a reaction, whether it's laughter or groaning, he has been asking, "What? What??" The latest one was over why Christians don't celebrate Christian holidays. (Simchat...I see the thread is closed now......LOL).

Anyway, my reaction was a groan at Sim's first post. I groaned because I knew EXACTLY where he was coming from, but also the outcry it would create. When my dh said, "What? What??" I tried to brush it off....."Oh....nothing...." :holy: But he insisted on knowing. I gave him the crux of the thread and sure enough, he didn't understand and had a little "mini-explosion."

It ended up with him yelling at me (well, yelling, and I just happened to be in the direction he was vocalizing) and I feel that he's been driven even further from wanting to seek the truth.

Even as I type this, I know that 1) It could be G-d who is doing this, and it will actually cause him to start to research this out on his own or 2) It could still be just him, but it still might cause him to start to study and research this out.

My stomach is in knots and I'm trying not to get emotional here

Any words of advice or comfort are appreciated

:brave smile:

I went through similar things with my wife. She was highly offended at some of what I discovered. However, her heart was hungry and she, through her own right, saw the truth in much of what I discovered.

Now, she keeps me on track! lol...

Sometimes I'll be doing something on Shabbat and she'll chastise me, pulling me back on track.

Things always have a funny way of working themselves out.

shalom,
yafet.

The only real "advice" I can give you dear, is remain faithful to HaShem and what he reveals to you. If you continue to be faithful to the direction he leads you in, all things will work out for good.

I will not try to tell you what G-d is telling you. Only you know that. But what I can say, is continue in the direction of his leading.

Trust me, you don't want to go anywhere else but where he takes you ;)

shalom achoti,
Yafet.

Thanks Simchat....he actually just came in a few minutes ago to make up with me. He wanted to "discuss why I don't believe the NT to be true anymore" and I told him I couldn't discuss anything right now as I was too upset. He was being his normal, sweet self, and truly felt bad he had hurt me like that. We'll be fine, and yes, I promise to stay true to what HaShem is showing me and to where He is leading me.

Thank you for you words and prayers.

Yesterday, he had some questions on kosher food. I was sharing the limited bit that I know, and he said, "You're not gonna try and force kosher food on me, are you?" I said, "No, of course not," and he looked at me like he didn't quite believe me.....LOL......

I said again, "No. Of course not." :) I think it's not only fear on his part that I've "lost" something (rather than gained) but also fear that I am going to try and change him (which I have never done, btw ;))

Dear LibertyChic,
May the L-RD give you strength and comfort in this moment!
But don't take his reaction as such a negative thing. Some people do get a little bit emotional (sometimes even aggressive) when their foundations are shaken. Whatever
he's been reading here, or hearing from you, is hard for him to digest... but the fact that he's reacted to it shows that some of it has actually come accross. Just give him some room and some time, but never miss the chance of telling him the truth whenever he asks - but only if the initiative is his. Surely, I won't be surprised if a few months from now he becomes one of the most active Messianic posters in this forum. If I were you, I'd only really WORRY about it if he didn't want to hear about your researches at all; or if he reacted with indifference. So, my advice is, keep your chin up, your knees bent (in prayer), witness to him whenever you can and let the Ruach HaKodesh do the rest.

In Messiah,
Ben Tsion

As a side note:

Are you considering leaving faith in Y'shua as Messiah?
Are you considering converting to Judaism?

Just curious. I too am currently going through conversion.... fyi.

Shalom!
Yafet.
Yes, and yes. However, I am searching for a reason to go to the Messianic route, rather than "abandon" my faith completely.....Either way, I will seriously consider conversion, even if I stay Messianic.

Thank you Ben Tsion....I'm doing much better now. All emotions have calmed down for the time being. L-rd give me strength as I try to explain this to him (at a later time!) ;)

I'm pretty sure that even if you did "force" kosher food on him, he'd never know. There is a difference between traditional Jewish dishes and kosher food. He'd probably think the meat tasted better! ;)
LOL...that's exactly what I told him.....^_^

I think he was referring to the possibility of me "flipping out" over him bringing bacon home, or something similiar. I am sure he doesn't know quite what to make of me right now....not sure what to expect. Well, gotta keep our men guessing, don't you know! teehee :holy:

Trust me, I know how hard that can be, when I went for conversion and admitted that I dont worship the messiah, I was subjected to some rough days at home. My grandfather has never been the same with me, and I never understood why becuase his father was a Jew as were both his grandparents, so sometimes its quite a hardship on a quest for truth.

I pray that HaShem guides you and comforts you, and that your husband will stand by you and perhaps, HaShem willing, see that G-ds eternal truth is and always has been in the Torah, too. :)

Shalom and G-d bless
