• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Pray to God for clarity that you will know that You are completely His. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are not going to hell because He has taken the punishment for you. Repent of your sin and praise Him for loving you so much that He died for you. There is always hope, as long as we are alive, that we can ask Him for forgiveness and know through faith that we are forgiven.

1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

John 6:37 says "All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away."

Take heart and hope in this.

Does it make any sense that God, who IS love (see John's Gospel and his Letters) would be WORSE at loving than I AM??????

I would be able to love you and forgive you for backsliding. And I'm just a random human woman. And I don't even know you. For my own CHILDREN, well, I would be able to love and forgive THEM of ALL SORTS of transgressions and sins. They would pretty much have to burn me at the stake whilst hurling insults upon my own person to get me not to love them, and even then I might still find Love in my heart. And again, I am just a petty human.

How much MORE must GOD, who is perfect, who is the embodiment of Love, Be so madly in love with each one of US, His children? Would he want to see us go to Hell for eternity? Um...No. Especially when you take into consideration that eternity is an awfully long time...especially towards the end. ;)

If it turns out that I am a better Love-er than God, I will eat my hat. :liturgy: (me with a big hat)

Yes, you can do things that disappoint Him. Yes, you can fall out of right relationship with God by telling Him to Sod OFF! (that is what Free Will is all about.) No, He CANNOT make you love Him back. He cannot make you accept His invitation. But you have the deep desire of the heart to accept His invitation. You have already decided to love Him back. Maybe you did turn away from Him when you knowingly did something that was wrong, but did it anyway, but you have turned back and sought His face, and He is there waiting patiently for you with open arms.
