When dealing with non-Christians online, I've found that when I speak anything Christian it tends to tick them off. What's worse, I'm getting a laugh out of ticking them off, or more accurately, their ticked off responses. Not necessarily in a vengeful way but still in a way that shouldn't be happening.

However, considering their current standing as far as their eternal placement is concerned, I should NOT be so easily reduced to laughter. It's really quite sad.

Am I alone in this? Are there others who seem to like to egg non-Christians on?

 Am wondering which question silent Enigma is refering to :D

It all depends if you are laughing because they are going to hell.
Which I am sure you are not. It's their responses that make you laugh, and you'll probably find they laugh at our frustrated responses too.

Good to see that you are looking at your behaviour and motives though,
a first step toward change isn't it. I wouldn't condemn myself about it.
It just means you're just like the rest of us...not perfect. But you desire to be a better ambassador for Christ and that is a good attitude to have.

So the thing to do now, is to check that you are not willfully antagonising these misled people just to get your jollies :D

Which is far different from laughing at someone's response when your original intention was to shed light on them.
In this kind of situation I would just regard the laughing as a kind of bonus for all your hard labour.:D
I mean, people will say things that will make you laugh.

It all boils down to your motivation and attitude in the discussion doesn't it.

Well, sometimes I do tend to antagonize, and other times I'm actually trying to shed light on the situation. Or sometimes it's both. Sometimes it's "Well let's shed some light...man it'll be fun reading their response!

So I'm thinking my attitude is sometimes a bit out of place.

So what do I do about it?

This is what I would do about it if I discovered I had this slight problem.

1: Allow God into the situation and ask thet He would shed light on the source of the attitude, as laughing or baiting them are not the source but the end result.
2: I would then do a indepth study of God's word for information relating to the attitude. Galatians 5 and 6 and 1 Corinthians 13 is where I would start.
3: Allowing God to show me what's in my heart, what is driving me to do these things, confirmed by His word, so there is no doubt.
4: When God has revealed the source attitude, I would then sit back in awe at God's insightful wisdom for showing me this, then, I confess that it is so, turn from it or desire to turn from it and ask God to come into this area and cleanse me from it.
5: Rejoice that my Father loves me so much that He would show me this about myself, that His desire is for me to be a clean and holy vessel for His glory.
6: Daily learn to walk in the spirit and not the flesh to combat this attitude.
7 : Give glory to God for everything.

Now this may take anywhere from 10 minutes to 10 years. But the main thing is I am always seeking a deeper relationship with my God and Father, because as I do this, all the negative attributes of me will naturally come to the surface to be dealt with by Him.

Thoroughly amazed and touched by God's gentle and loving concern for me, I eagerly run toward Him for more.

Pray for patience, understanding and compassion. Pray for real love for these people. Love covers a multitude of sins. Including pride. Real love does not lend itself to ridiculing those who do have not been given the Grace to have faith.

Pray a lot.

Carpark, I have done as you suggested and read the scriptures you have suggested. I have determined that my problem is lack of love for the misguided sinners. I have asked God to help me so that I am more loving, because love would not antagonize someone just so I can laugh at their ridiculous responses.
