Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

To be saved you believe on Jesus (Have faith and trust in Jesus and what he did in the Gospel to save you)

Believe Jesus is God and Savior. The gospel is that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried and resurrected 3 days later. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

God saves whom He will and doesn't expect a specific prayer to prove it. He knows our thoughts and sees our hearts. Faith comes from His Spirit.

IMO, God doesn't have to have permission to save whom He will. Israel was chosen, so is the body of Christ.

What I mean is that when soul winning, it is good to have the person you are teaching say out loud a Sinner's prayer in order to show they get what has been taught. If the person says they understand all parts of the above Sinner's prayer that you know they are saved vs that person not being saved.

For a moment I thought you were a bot, then saw that everybody loves you. God doesn't need our help to save souls, He only needs our witness. A "Sinners Prayer" is drama.

No, to be saved you must be "drawn" by God.
And the "belief" and/or "faith" you have is GIVEN
... and is not something produced by unregenerated men.

A PERFECT example of a "works gospel" or a "boaster's gospel"
is to pretend that saying a "sinner's prayer" initiates or contributes
to salvation. For God says its IMPOSSIBLE for any (unregenerated)
man to ever "seek God". Apparently (in your mind) God was
wrong and men can decide to save themselves whenever
they want. That is the heresy of a synergistic "gospel".

There is no such thing as "soul winning".
Salvation is NOT something that is "won"
That is a heresy of synergism not found in
    the Gospel of the Bible.

Really... so Jesus was LYING when He taught [John 6] that
NO MAN can come to Him unless the Father first "draws" them
and ALL MEN the Father draws "shall come" to Him and He will
    lose NONE of them.

I guess it was just too bad that JESUS did not know about
the "works" of the sinner's prayer being another way to God.
He just did not understand salvation is just a "work" of man and
not a matter of being "chosen" and "drawn" by God.
Silly Jesus. I guess He did not understand Scripture.

No... some of "us" are NOT "fruit" inspectors. That is clear.
And what a witty way you have with your OWN words.

However, the Bible COMMANDS the (real) saints in the church to:
    (a) identify the unsaved "tares" in the church by their "works" and
    (b) for the
elders to REBUKE the false doctrines of these "tares" and
    (c) to EXPEL these unsaved tares from the church if they refuse
    to repent.

So... clearly the Bible COMMANDS some of us (the real saints)
to KNOW a tree by it's "fruit" and to separate from all those
showing the "fruit" of being unsaved "tares" in the church.

Is this REALLY "news" to you.

    How correct you are.
Moreover, saying a sinner's prayer because you decided that
going to hell was not for you is NOT real repentance at all.
The entire notion of salvation by "works" is heresy...
it is a heresy typically called "synergism".

It does not matter if that "work" is saying a sinner's prayer...
or deciding to make an altar call... or receiving water baptism...
or deciding to repent of some sins... or deciding to "invite"
Jesus into your heart... of DECIDING (a mental "work")
    to "believe"....

The Bible is clear that NO MAN who is unregenrated will ever
"seek God" (no, not even one). All REAL repentance must be
the RESULT of regeneration and never the CAUSE. That is part
    of Christian theology 101...

But, as the Bible foretold, MOST of those in the church will
follow the BROAD WAY of synergism into eternal destruction
and FEW in the church will find the narrow way of the True Gospel
of monergism. This is just the FULFILLMENT of prophecy.

"Repeat after me" doesn't mean they truly understand what they are saying.

A 5 year old can do that, and most people who feel pressured or on the spot will say whatever you want them to say just to escape the pressured feeling and go about their way in peace.

It's better to actually have a prospective believer sit down with an elder or two, in private, if they say they want to know how to be saved, or if they indicate they want to be saved. Find out what they truly understand from their own mouth without promoting and be there to answer any questions or address any misunderstanding.

Take time with people; salvation isn't a factory assembly line...

None of "us" are fruit inspectors. I suspect very unsound relationships between Christology, Eschatolgy and Soterioly. I'm not going to get in a flame match with you, I'm searching for folk to discuss not assume doctrine.

I can't help myself, you've equated the responsibility of family to falsehood. There's no such thing as a "prospective" believer. You sound like a Jehovah's false witness.

So you believe being able to recite the sinners prayer equates to being saved? You think the validity of "repeat after me" is somehow synonymous with a change of heart toward sin and God?

How come so many do this and then fall away from the faith, as if they never understood salvation at all...

If the sinners prayer was somehow a valid indication of salvation our nation wouldn't be in the shape it's in right now, devoid of faith and steeped in sin.
