I agree with you all. 2:45 in the morning and I am still stunned. just about the most heart-sickening display of disdain and hatred I've seen in, oh, a decade or so, i think.
shedding tender tears for my Jewish and non-Jewish brethren alike,

I am coming a bit late in this thread/the other thread (funny how a few hours is somehow ancient past in internet time :) ), but I am likewise deeply shocked and saddened. I guess I had never come across that sort of idea in my 20+ year Christian walk.

This whole thing makes me want to change my icon! As a matter of fact, I'm going to. I hadn't realized how far my thinking had come until that thread. I believe I am ready to take upon the yoke of Yeshua and follow Him fully by willingly placing myself under the Torah's guidance.

This has been something my wife and I have been struggling with and considering for a while now, and I am feeling led to actually make the committment instead of continuing to kick it around. (My wife wanted to wait until we got to Vayikra in our Torah study and were "commanded" to do so, but I think she's ready now as well :) )

Please pray for my wife and I, chaverim.

The affore mentioned thread has been closed - the moderator felt it was an unfair discussion as the very ones being talked about were not allowed to debate in that forum- per forum-wide CF rules. (Just like our similar rule here :) )

May I suggest that we leave off the discussion of this topic in THIS forum, for the same reasons?? I'm sure you can understand the wisdom in such an action. ;) What has been said, has been said and is enough on which to ruminate......

As she said (and paraphrased by me): Blessings to Jews and non-Jews, alike!!

I would like to bring up a point.... especially in the light of the activity on the forums over the last couple of weeks. Our G-d is a G-d of wisdom and says He grants wisdom *liberally* to those who seek her!!

It is not necessary to respond to every "attack." Even in the military one assesses the situation and will respond in the timing and manner most likely to achieve the objective. There *are* times when any reasonable objective is just unatainable in a particular "arena" - and attempting to wage a defense is actually depleting your resources, demoralizing your "troops" and envigorating/encouraging A very wise person once said: "pick your battles very carefully."

Just because it stings *does NOT mean you have to scratch it." Swatting at a buzzing bee is the best way to get stung.;)

Some statements/lies/assertions/confusions/misunderstandings are best left unanswered at that time. Pray G-d brings to you those who are honestly looking for an answer and leave the rest to His wisdom.:holy:

Sis
I am going to respectfully agree to disagree with you on this one.

And I think the posistion of the Israelli military is the proper stance.
You take a shot at us and we will respond with 10 times the force.

For too long the world has used the peace desiring Jew the one who really would prefer to be left alone by the outside world as the scapegoat for all manner of ills. And I for one will defend with all I have my Jewish brethern.

Sorry to sound militaristic here. But if I don't stand for them who will stand for me when they come for me? And to be sure all this persecution always starts with rehtoric and it always starts the same way. So I say better to defend with words now than with guns and missles later. For the path to peace (which is what we want to begin with) starts with destroying sterotypes and lies when they first apear and before they become state policy.

Blessings

Pastor George

Even the Israeli military does not respond to *every* attack, they *very* carefully pick and choose *where, when and how* they will respond "with 10 times the force!! (GO IDF!!) And in a full war - NO military can indiscreminately retaliate every incursion - or they would never have the resources for the truly important campaigns :) Remember - we are to be a wise as serpants - not a enraged as bulls :)
