  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello, Everyone.

I apologize ahead of time if I'm posting this in the incorrect forum; I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to find the most appropriate one, as this site is so huge! :help:

I don't mean to be a wet-blanket this close to Christmas, but I want to forewarn people about a business that seems to be pulling some, well, funny business.
I wanted to order an item from Catholicmax.com and found that they're charging $40 for USPS Express (7-day) shipping. That didn't sound right, but the company assured me that it is correct. So playing the super-sleuth, I went to the USPS' website and typed in some fictitious info. to get an idea of what their costs are. I found that a 1lb. package going from CA to IL *overnight* is only $17.85--a far cry from the $40 that Catholicmax.com claims it costs to ship from their location (presumably U.S.-based) over a 7-day period.

My husband is convinced that the company is pocketing the money. Whatever is going on, it's not ethical; I don't want to see anyone get taken by what clearly seems to be a racket of some sort. Be careful; shop wisely.

Happy Holidays to Everyone!

I shop for shipping charges as much as I shop for the price of supplies (or whatever I'm ordering).... if the shipping doesn't sound right - I don't order it. There is no packaging that is worth that much. It definitely sounds like a rip-off to me.

I wouldn't do business with a company that does that either.
