  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yep and that still does change my views. The vulnerable and sick stay away, we stay away from them but all this for me is a bridge to far
The problem is that sense people can have it ad show NO signs that is why we are doing this way, If everyone that carried it got sick that would work, but that is not the case. Moreover, unless it is someone in your close family you may not know that he or she is at higher risk.

I am willing to wait it out and see if things get better ( as the rate does slow. If not, then I will worry, but right now to allow medical staff to catch up this is our only option since not enough people are doing it voluntarily.

Im planning on celebrating at home as all of the masses are now offered online exclusively.
With our massive outbreak in Norway we're under lockdown, and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

If im alive and well at the time of easter i will definitely worship the Lord with immense joy and devotion.

Im living with my family and some of us have to work in the midst of this epidemic.
My mother is a nurse and will have to take care of some infected patients sooner or later.

Others in my home are also in a position where they have to show up for work.
Its highly likely that we will endure this soon, perhaps before easter.

Well, as I was about to say. If I'm still around (im only 29 y old so its statistically likely, but one never knows) and well I'll observe Tridum with great devotion and I'll celebrate the easter vigil with uttermost joy!

Im planning on holding all of the liturgical times throughout holy week, and i will chant Exultet.
When it comes to exultet in latin it will take some practice, so i will start practicing it within few days.

I'll do exactly as we would've done in church if they were open (except mass obviously...).
Easter without communion will be weird, but as one of our priests said online "we are in a desert much like that of the Israelites was when they fled from Egypt".

So, what's your plans for easter with closed churches? Do you have any specific plans ?
Our church isn't 'closed just yet but the archbishop has given a dispensation and only about a quarter of the people showed up Sunday. With the panic escalating I expect less next week. The two people who I share an hour of adoration with on Monday nights were even afraid to have the three of us in one room, so only one went. It bummed me out.

Our church renovations are to be finished for Easter. The communion rail is to be restored and used. The space around the altar is being fixed so a priest can actually stand for an ad orientem mass. And we won't have anybody there because of this stupid virus. That bums me out.

I had to go to the store today to get some pain meds for my wife. Almost totally depleted. I walked around the store a bit and the bread was GONE and shelves were seriously thinned throughout the store. The same store was fine on Saturday. That bums me out.

The governor shut down restaurants today, except for takeout and delivery. And almost everything else, probably putting 100,000 people out of work. He did announce streamlined unemployment filing, but as a contractor I don't qualify. But I'm still subject to losing work, as I have seen already due to scares. So I'm bumming.

I like your idea of observing things even if the church is closed. I will try that. They may have taken my Lord, but at least I can keep vigil for now. Thanks.
