  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just watched the 2001 planet of the apes. I must say it was a horrible movie not to mention that the main ape chick looked like micheal jackson. I have a couple of questions though that I didn't get (maybe because I missed a few parts of the movie in between as I was bored with it...)...

1. What was up with the ape having been a slave? What was that supposed to signify? She was an ape...right?

2. The end...the main actor returns to earth...and everyone is an ape???? What????

i haven't seen the new one. But i like the old ones; b/c they are cheesy and funny when they were supposed to be serious. In the old one charlton heston discovers he IS on earth; in the future and the apes have like super evolved and overthrown their human overlords and now rule earth.

Yeah, the old ones are pretty funny. They were making fun of them on the radio last week and playing the ad's for them from back in the 70's.

Charleton Heston made a great Moses, I don't know what it is but when I see him in other movies I can't help but laugh. Something about his voice or his acting.

Have you ever seen the originals? Go watch them, then watch the remake. You should understand it a bit better.

Have you seen any of the sequels/prequels? I like the one with mutants worshipping an atom bomb.

OT,

Charlton Heston > Marky Mark.

lol people drive me nuts when they say its the movie that is "horrible" when they are the ones that didn't understand it ...

it wasn't the best movie of all time or anything but it was a cool move.

My fondest memory of Planet of the Apes was my ExGF being upset with me for liking Star Wars because it sends the wrong message to young Christians, as she defended one of her fav movies Coyote Ugly.

This is not the same ExGF the was hitting me with the face of my radio as I was driving about 75mph but yeah, I tend to attract the girls that confuse me.

Anywho I think the stupidity of her arguement caused my brain to over-compensate and subsequantly erased Marky Mark's performance from my memory instead.
