Many women, and men too, are body shy and don't particularly like being naked around others, regardless of gender. Men are expected to put up with it, and even women using men's "private spaces" doesn't seem like such a big deal to anybody. The question is, why are the situations not symmetrical?

Sexism obviously. Men are expected to be gentlemen and respect women. I've seen women do that and, but men are often too gentlemanly to say anything to a woman about it. Its obvious to us that she isn't doing it casually but is in an emergency situation. We understand that women don't have the same bladder control and can easily urinate in their pants. We know it's embarrassing her to be there and she wouldn't be if she didn't have to be. The only women's is upstairs way at the back of the offices, so she uses the men's. Guess what?
