I'm curious as to what kind of "plan" everyone has for TTC. I have the dreaded "unexplained infertility". :ebil: Actually, my (now former) OB-GYN says I'm just old. The only thing really wrong with me is that my follicular phase is long / I ovulate late, and I have short / light periods.

I'm currently revising my Plan of Action now that I know I can get pregnant at my age. Now I'm looking into how to make future attempts more successful. I refuse to go to an RE, since all my levels and scans look good, and we're not willing (and can't afford) IUI and/or IVF. I'm

Here's my plan:
Diet:
First, I have given up caffeine. I have also given up sweets (my "addiction") and am eating a more healthy diet. And I drink at least 64 oz of water each day.

Medications / Supplements:
I will continue to take my anxiety medication (which is okay in pregnancy) and my multivitamin. I take a couple of traditional herbal supplements, which have helped me ovulate sooner. And I've given up NSAIDS completely since they can delay ovulation.

Exercise:
This is the part need to work on right now. I spend so much time either at work or working on our new house that I don't have the energy to workout (I literally fall into bed and am asleep most nights before my head hits the pillow).

Sleep:
I will get at least 6-7 hrs/night. This means working as many 12-hour shifts instead of 24-hour shifts as possible.

Prayer / Meditation:
I will pray for courage and patience, not for a baby. I want to pray "not my will, but Yours" and mean it! I want to accept whatever happens with gratitude and joy, instead of with fear and anxiety. And I will make more of an effort to actually meditate (daily if possible).

So . . . .
What is your "Plan of Action" for this cycle?
And, if you're willing to share, what kind of problem do you have (diagnosed by a doctor or suspected by you)?

Sounds like you have a wonderful plan. Do you have a new OB/GYN to see? I was wondering if you had thought about trying clomid or femara; as they can both cause you to ovulate earlier.

As for me - my current plan is to get my insulin and colesterol numbers into a normal range. I am also working on losing weight - it's rough; but I've gotta do it. I need to make this body healthy for a baby. As I have stated in another post - I am currently on 8 different medications - some of them I will continue on for a while; others I hope to get off of.

I am now exercising 30 minutes a day 5 times a week. I am also working on getting more sleep (right now it's tough with hubby out of town).

Metformin - 4 pills - for Insulin Resistance
Effexor - 1 - Anxiety
Wellbutrin - 1 - Depression
Pre-natal - 1 - vitamin
lipotrophic - 1 - colesterol
Omega3 - 2 - colesterol
cinnamon/chromium - 2 - insulin
baby aspirin - 1 - recomended for blood clotting (improve uterine lining)

We have a high-energy, high-strung dog who needs an exercise plan, too, so I've been trying to incorporate her requirements with mine. I take her on walks/jogs at least 3-4 nights a week, and I'm trying to up that to every single day. I found a very reasonable plan for progressing from the couch to 5k, and I'm excited about trying it, but I'm carrying around far too much excess weight, so I need to be super careful and work myself up to that slowly.

Aside from that, I'm trying to follow a sensible diet, paying attention to portion control and carb intake. I haven't started a formal diet yet, but I expect I probably will eventually.

I'm taking Metformin x 500mg per day (working up to 1500 mg over the next couple of weeks) and a hormonal contraceptive to help me shed my uterine lining and get my hormones back into shape.

In about three months, my doctor will be able to put me on Clomid to try to spark ovulation. We'll have to evaluate whether we feel ready to begin the process actively at that point. I also need to get my body into better shape to bear a child.

Well, we have just found out that DH has low sperm count, motility, morphology - ALL OF THEM ARE LOW!!! We were trying to do IUI at the end of this month, but the most recent SA shows that there isn't even enough volume for them to DO the actual procedure!

Sooooo...my plan is to help encourage DH to exercise more and take supplements/vitamins. I'm also dedicated to spending more time just the 2 of us - walking, exploring, meditating.
I'm really trying to focus on God's will for our lives instead of our will, but it's soooo tempting to pray for what I WANT RIGHT NOW - A BABY!

We are on a 3 month 'build up sperm' mission! Please pray for us. Thx! God bless.

hmmm...have great sex:p;):D

Seriously, that's it. That's my plan.

I'm exercising, working on better eating, seeing a dietician, taking my medication, but that's all with trying to get healthier. If it helps me get pregnant, great, if not, well, then I'll accept that as God's plan. I am taking a prenatal, but really that's because I should take a multi anyway and it's not going to HELP me get pregnant, just make me healthier WHEN I get pregnant. I take my temp and monitor my cycle but am not rigid about it.

Hubby & I have talked and if we don't get pregnant by next year (we'll be married 2 years by then) around this time, we'll start the adoption process. If I happen to get pregnant during that process, we'll most likely continue depending on where we are in the process.
