I was wondering if anyone else has lessoned to Fighting for the Faith on Pirate Christian Radio. If so, what do you think? Most people that I find who don't care for it are far more liberal in their theology, like accepting of women as pastors. He entertains with snippets of poor theology in the first hour. The last hour he takes a sermon from a decently known preacher in the circuits and critiques them by using Scripture to prove the errors. It's astonishing how far off base so many popular preachers are. It's amazing how many Baptist preachers people look up to preach Scripture as if its there to help you be a better person when the text they read said nothing of it.

Every Friday he has a good sermon and he lets those sermon stand on their own.

A key to a good sermon is preaching Christ and Him crucified for our sins(gospel) every week. But most just preach law(how you should live).

Is it improper to post sermons in here which I find bad?

How do these seminaries allow this to happen? Who has infiltrated the seminaries?

I'm blown away how much of a fraternity the pastoral office is. There seems to be countless conferences each year to help this fraternity learn systems that fit within modern or postmodern philosophical frameworks and use the tools the dark one gave us with our mouth to turn Square Scripture References to fit in round framework holes.

An example of this is the phrase, "hearing from God". This term has been used so loosely, the former Mars Hill pastor, Mark Driscoll, used it in a conference he taught at recently to say God spoke to him and released him from his pastoral duty, PRIOR to the church discipline Mars Hill leadership was going to hand down. Mark has made himself into a victim of sheep victimizing him.

So many claim God spoke to them. God speaks to me too. It's called the Bible. But most people don't mean a Bible. They mean God literally spoke to them. As Chris would say, this should mean they should append their Bible with the words they claim God said.

Used to listen to it all the time.

I don't, anymore, for several reasons. Mostly, because I have far too many different podcasts on my ipod to keep up with all of them.

The "comedy" bits he does in the commercials are painfully unfunny. One is an almost word for word rip off of a Monty Python bit, with a word changed here and there to make it about Christianity. That turns me off from listening to it a lot of times.

It's a shame, too, because he really does have some good things on there.

I'd like to see him stop focusing on WoF and Emergent so much and take on Catholicism, Mormonism, and more topics like James White does on the Dividing Line.

From "StupidPhone"
BTW, I may have been the first to call a computer, "Stupid machine!!!". These are getting so "smart" that they pretend to know better than we do as to what we want!

I may give a listen.

South bound, I used to listen to James White a lot. The homosexual issue wasn't an issue i cared to listen to him on and he just wouldn't stop so i kind of died out on him. I still have his podcast there available, but I just haven't made much of an emphasis to listen to anymore. I've got about 10 different tech podcast i listen to as well, so I'm busy with those too. Plus, I'm not quite as reformed in my thinking as i was when listening, but I did catch his show yesterday for about 15 minutes. I do love his shows when he answers questions or reviews for debates or post debate discussions. The memes that his followers make of him are hilarious. There was one the other day with James appearing to be looking the directions of his opponent with a stern face with the meme saying, "Hurry up and finish so i can crush you".

I think Chris Rosebrough is a huge fan of Monty Python and the skits are his way of paying tribute to it. I listen not as often as i used to, but i still catch it fairly often. I think the humor is a primary factor i like it. His show is about being entertaining and that is entertaining to me. But its also about teaching and he has that covered too.

If that's funny to you, that's fine. Makes me cringe. He could at least be a little less plagiariz-y about it.
