That whole equation in the first link is based on an assumption.

On the same one that prodromos made, so it must be right.

If the 10 cubits is the outside diameter and you subtract two handbreadths for the inner diameter, then the resulting inner circumference is almost exactly 30 cubits. Pretty accurate if you ask me

It's obvious that this assumption is not merely an assumption but is the truth. How can I say that? Simple! They did not calculate the circumfrence of the thing but measured it with a line. I think even the most baffoonest bafoon in bafoon world would know the difference between 30 and 31.4 when measuring. The fact then that 30 is written shows that this was the inner circumfrence and that if we are to follow up on the calculations we must take that into account and subtract the handbreadths from the outer diameter for the inner diameter.

God used fallible humans to write it, but He is well able to ensure they wrote it as He desired.

Is that really the whole purpose of your OP - to undermine God's written word?
Why not ask God to help you with the bits you can't deal with?

Concerning this, see 2 Chr 4:2-5 "...a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about." The NKJV says "a line of thirty cubits measured its circumference." The NIV "It took a line of thirty cubits to measure around it." They did not measure the diameter and then use math to get the circumference, but used a line to measure the circumference. The rest follows from this fact.

First and foremost, this is NOT the forum for this type of discussion. If you want to get into the whole fallibility thing than go to an apologetics or other appropriate forum.

Secondly, your coming at the issue with an obvious prejudice and also an obvious misunderstanding of the doctrine of infallibility. It would be a waste of time to try and explain your misuderstanding to you because you would not accept the answer anyway.

I suggest that everyone just ignore things like this from this guy, at least in this area of the forums, and move on to what this area was meant to be for, deeper study of God's Word.
