• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello i am new here. I just found out im not the only christian with OCD. Mine happened as soon as i became a Christian. I would obsess about moral issues, right and wrong..all from Gods point of view..what does he think is right or wrong..and until i could mentally get an answer for myself i would tense my body..my neck and stomach and head..and when i got my answer i would be released from it..i have been doing this for years now and i am worn out completely..does anyone else go thru this?

Hey Ryan

I can sort of relate with you. I became a christian when I was young and then I sort of fell out of the faith. As I try to get closer to God and give up more of my life to Him, I find myself worrying about the littlest things and wondering if I should go back and fix it (like not stopping fully at a stop sign). Of course this part of my OCD is minor.
Are you getting help for your OCD? It really helps when you can talk to someone who understands this disorder.
Take care.

Hi,

My therapist said, "you are running a marathon." It's exhausting, because you are constantly trying to "solve" issues and are obsessing. I used to groan from fatigue. I am learning to turn over to God what is God's and it is tremendously liberating. "Let" the Lord rule and deal with the tough issues. One of my friends pointed out that maybe God just wants us to enjoy all the wonders he has created and not to "play God" by trying to figure out how He views us and others. That is a relief, because it can be overwhelming. I thank God for the freedom from this overwhelming feeling.

Happy Thanksgiving! Marc

Do you ever wonder if the Devil is just tormenting us? He focused in on you because you became a christian and a threat to him? I just wonder if this is our brain or spiritual warfare. Who knows.
