Photoshop?

Does anyone here photoshop their photos? I mean more than the average crop, brightnesss or sharpness adjustments to enhance your pictures? I like to play around with textures and other effects and once in a while make fantasy scenes.

But, were making a book in school, and we traced out photos on acetate, rearranged what was in them, scanned em into the pcs and edited all the color back in, twas rewarding in the end

To be honest, I don't own it either. I use PSP X2. I used the term 'photoshop' because I figured most people are familiar with it.

I like the idea of digital scrapbooking... no need for cupboards full of ribbons, papers and glue. I've tried this a couple of times for cards.

Hi,

I use photoshop as part of my DTP. I'm still learning, but the actions an brushes are quite a creative way of putting that extra bit to a photo.
I only shoot in Raw when I need to do some major changes or use it for a product that will be blown up quite a bit. Very limited use of RAW. I prefer Tiff and JPEG.
I also use Photoshop for panoramic stitching.

Have you done this yourself? They say it is is non-permanent and non-destructive but it still makes me nervous.

No, I haven't tried it... as my camera does shoot RAW. Only saw the article yesterday and remembered this thread. Sorry.

I want to get CS3 but will probably wait till CS4 comes out. It can make your crappy photo's look really well, but I like un-edited pictures the most.

For portraits and people photography work I edit out pimples, blemishes, scars, etc.

Lately I have been playing around with different effects to apply make-up digitally in photoshop... it's a lot of fun but I still got much to learn!

Of course...I use Photoshop CS3 Extended, I love using it for photomanipulation to create art. Sometimes I just make graphics with it instead of manipulating a photo...you can check out my stuff on http://guitargeekette@deviantart.com

what impressed me between CS3 and CS2, was the sheer speed of photoshop's startup time. Very impressive.

I use it sometimes, mostly to only apply filters. For an everyday spot remover, exposure checker, etc, I use Lightroom.
