  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, for me, I don't use photoshop, because I believe in au naturale photography. :p That and the fact I can't use PS to save my life :p But seriously. :) Back on topic. :)

I use PS for resizing and adding borders/watermarks to my photos. Either that, or photomanipulation. So much that it is easy to see that the photo is not real. Not that I'm against using color adjustments or anything, but I like the natural appeal. ^_^

Photoshop is great for touching up pictures. I don't have the best top-end scanner, so it's nice to be able to modify things a bit to make them somewhat resemble the picture I'm actually holding in my hand.

And, it's also fun to do some cool effects with them. My signature is a good example of that.

Photoshop is useful in a lot of ways and it's fun to muck about with things. I find it a pity in some ways though that people manipulate images a lot, and make a far better photograph than they can actually take, but I won't protest. I actually use it myself, but it's more to touch up colour contrast and dust kind of things.

i did a couple of restorations a while back, but didn't have the luxury of photoshop to do it

This is the first one i did....most frustrating to find out a couple of months later that my brother had a copy of the photo that was in perfect condition LOL. Took me about 10 hours, but as I said, I didn't have the luxury of photoshop!

it's an expensive program to buy, so if you're still at school, go to a store somewhere and grab an academic version while you can, it's SO much cheaper that way....

Very true. I just bought it yesterday, because I realized that I only have one semester left before I won't be elegible for the student discount. I'm not a pro photographer by any means, so I don't really care to get involved with the dabates about it. I just like goofing around with it, like moving people's heads around. :D
