  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do any of you read these, and are any of them interesting or useful to you? I was browsing them at the bookstore yesterday and some of them seemed pretty good. If any of you like any of them, which one? There was one I liked a lot but it kept talking about UK money and I am US and know nothing about UK money.... so maybe I want a US magazine? I imagine it would also be cheaper to buy if you know what I mean. ;)

My favorite (by far) is Practical Photography a UK publication. It is expensive, and your right all the ads list UK prices which have no application to someone in the U.S.A. It has articles for both beginner and advanced students of photography. Its comparison tests for equipment are candid and sometimes brutal.

Popular Photography is my favorite U.S. Publication. It has improved a lot in the past few years, but I never read a lens review it didn't like. To really compare lenses you have to look hard at the data supplied with the review. A lot of work that could be candidly summed up in a few sentences.

If you are interested in mail-order-equipment ads, I like Shutterbug.

Outdoor Photography is a good magazine, as well as Practical Photography. And so is Photography Monthly. But these are all british publications. In some ways it might be worth getting them if you like the articles and reviews, but looking on the internet for the US prices? Just a random thought.
