  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, I posted something else that you evidently didn't see after that. I still know what you mean about the sociophobia. The thought of calling someone on the phone or answering the phone used to fill me with great fear. I made a joke about the hippopotomonstro phobia, and decided to edit it because while I meant to make just light fun, I think it came out as mean.

I wouldn't exactly call it a phobia because I don't get hysterical or do anything that phobias make you do...but whenever I see someone inside a submerged submarine, I get this unexplainable "grip of fear" inside of me or something.

I guess I have just always been afraid of drowning and, obviously in a submarine, you are surrounded by water and then you are so down under....wowzers!

That's a good idea. I've been afraid of toasters for a long time. Hate it when they pop up like jack in the box toys :).

But my biggest worldly fear would probably be free falling. I know i'll get over it after a whie (i'm sure i'll be sky diving one day :D) but that's my current phobia. Took me a while to figure it out :).

Oh you won't belive it but I'm afraid of ice. NO I'm not scared it might jump at me and eat me or anything...
It's just that
1. If I'm on my bike I'm really scared that it'll slip right away from under me (Happend to me 3 times this winter... ouch... )

2. if I'm on my skis, I'm scared too 'coz to me it's impossible to control them on ice...

(and 3. I don't really like ice cream either...;) )

And hey. I can relate., I used to be terrifed of making telephone calls, or talking on the answering machine.....

Greetings
Naomi
