  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My testimony is nothing spectacular. I was a good kid by the standards of society and the bad things I did do I never seemed to get caught for, yet those things were nowhere near as bad as the things most other kids I knew had done, so in my own eyes, I was still a good kid. Then, a year ago as of January 31st of 2004, I was invited to go on a trip with Club 121, a group of Christians in school trying to reach out to the unsaved population of the school. I, of course, really didn't know about any of that, I just had fun there so I went, although a lot of the stuff that they talked about interested me. After a lot of rough and tumble things trying to find a way simply to get up there, I was able to make my way there. And am I ever glad that God allowed me to go with this group. While I was there, a speaker that had been at our school to talk to us about drugs, a comedian, was there and without the limitations of the school, was allowed to talk freely about his faith. Between that and the effective witnessing of one individual who, in fact, was not even witnessing to me because she thought I was already saved, I came to a decision on the ride home to ask the Lord for forgiveness of my sins and asked Jesus to have a relationship with me. It was the first thing that had ever felt so entirely 100% right in my whole life, and it felt great. I had no clue as to what was making me feel so good at the time, but looking back, I can truly say that the Lord works miracles in our lives every day, even before we acknowledge that He's there.
