  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

does anyone have lots of pets in the one household?

how do they all get along?

growing up, my family and i had guinea pigs, birds, fish, cats, dogs and chickens - we love having pets!! :)

the cockatiel i had (named "dude") used to at the cat and dog food from their bowl at the same time that the cats and dogs were eating!!

the dogs we had were very small - same size as the cat - so i think the cat and dogs were more scared of the bird than he was of them!

I have ducks, dogs, cats, birds.

At one time (Im so embarrassed) I had 12 dogs, 1 pig, 1 goat, 10 cats and 5 ducks.

My momma dog got pregnant before we could fix her. My momma cat did the same. The kitties were born 4 days before the pups. Those got along. I gave away most of the dogs. Then momma cat gave birth again. These kittens don't like dogs. I gave my goat and pig to a lady from the Feed Barn. She says they think they are dogs. A bobcat ate one of my ducks. Some of our cats got hit by cars. We don't let them out at night anymore. Then........right before her appointment to get fixed, my baby Vicki got pregnant so in two months I will have MORE kittens. There is a moral to this story.

Spay or neuter your pets if you love them!!

I have several animals in the home - cats, dogs, parrots, passerines, rodents, and rabbits - that come and go (fosters), and have never had a real problem (though I'm not a fan of too many permanent animal friends!). With proper space, entertainment, and nutrition there rarely is a terrible experience, though you always have your bullies! :p

For future reference, avians should never eat from the same dish as cats, dogs, humans, etc., as our saliva carries many pathogens (such as E. Coli) that cause septicemia, which then kills a bird quite quickly. Cats especially should be avoided as they often have Pasteurella in their mouths, which is extremely, usually irreversibly, fatal to birds.

we have so many animals, some farm, some indoor..all different types but the ones we have the most work with getting along are the birds and the dogs. The cats seem peaceful with our indoor birds but we still never leave them alone if the birds are on their perches. we also have some trouble with a pony and our dog but we just work with them.good animal relatiuonships start early maybe. this pony is our wild child. bad,bad boy but we love him and he stays!

Currently we only have a cat and a beta. But when i was a kid we had several cats and goldfish. My grandma lived on a farm, so that's where most of the cats would live, but we had at least 2 or 3 here at home. Then when one of the cats would have kittens we would bring them home as well so that the coyotes wouldn't get them. The most cats we had on the farm and at home combined would probably have to be between 20 and 25. And at one time we also had a dog.

Chubs (the cat) gets along with Spot (my beta) rather well. He doesn't bug the fish at all. Chubs also gets along with dogs, we actually think that he may be part dog because of the way he acts...
