  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you currently have a pet? If not or even if you do what kind of pets do you want to have in the future?

Right now I have a pet tabby named Shuji. In the future I would like to have a dog. I really love beagles, Siberian huskies and German Shepards-but I'll probably adopt a dog from the SPCA. I might get other animals like a fish or lizard.

Right now I am making do with Lt. Twighlight Fuzzybutt.

I have had Great Danes and other large breed dogs before and when I get someplace where I can have one again, I expect I'll be looking for another Great Dane. A Thai Ridgeback or a good Pit Bull would be options I'd consider.

Pet wise the family has 1 dog, 4 cats, 6 rats, 2 hamsters, 12 tarantulas, 3 millipedes, 18 cockroaches, 30 cold water fish, 5 GALs, 2 horses, 3 chickens, 1 turkey, 2 ferrets, 4 rabbits, 3 cavies and 1 African Pygmy Hedgehog. At least that was the total last time I went home.

"Up north" I don't have any pets, the landlord would chuck me out on my ear :(

Well, I have a cat that's on its last leg, and my Mom has two dogs. The cat I've had since I was 8. The dogs are a year old and 7 months old, and are both Yorkies. Honestly, those are the only two types of pets I would ever have, though cats are easier to manage.

We have six pets - three dogs and three cats. I have two senior adult cats (orange tabby male and a white female) and a young adult male tuxedo cat. I have a 7 year old Rat Terrier, a nine-month old English Pointer and a 4 year old fawn Great Dane female. All rescue animals. I've also fostered guinea pigs, but I don't keep them as full-time pets nor do I run a full-time rescue. I foster them until they can be placed in a forever home.

In my house there's only a small- shy cat right now. I had adopted a dog awhile ago but had to find him a home that was able to spend the time training him to not go after cats, small pets and i found that for him. I probably will not get another dog for awhile. I miss my old dog alot. Learning you cannot replace pets. It's not fair to new ones.

I had a Belgian Malinois puppy that I adopted from the US Air Force when she failed out of police training (she didn't like to bite people, lol). Sadly, she has passed away. I am going to adopt another Malinois puppy from the Air Force when I return from Iraq though....they are the best dogs in the world imho :)

We have 3 dogs, 2 birds (budgie and cockatiel), 2 horses, a hand raised cow, chickens, turkeys, and peacocks. The fowl will run away from you if you chase them, follow you if you have their food, and fall asleep if you catch and pat them! I did have a hand raised lorikeet but a snake got to that one. And we did have a couple of pet baby possums, but our dog killed one and the other ran away. My sister hand raised a kookaburra but when he was full grown, we decided to let him out in the wild. Every now and then, we get a kookaburra laughing in the trees right beside our house; we think it's Jacko!

Though, one day I want to have lots of horses and dogs and build a special room in my house where any injured animal can recover. I'd like to build an avary too and have some rainbow lorikeets.
