  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm sitting here in my living room at 5am, flipping through the channels and come across Peter Popoff, still doing the same faith healing crap on TV that he was doing way back when it was proven he was a fraud.

How do these people live with themselves? Better yet, where do these people find gullible people to follow them? I can't believe lying, cheating thieves like Popoff are still on TV and not relegated to cleaning toilets or flipping burgers. Better still, why are they not sitting in a jail cell?

LOL, now he's offering "Miracle Manna" -- FREE!

Oops, now someone is suffering from pain in their left side and someone lost their job... But never fear, Popoff is gonna heeeeaaalllll you. But only if you order his "free" Miracle Manna" so you can get prophetic leading and get touched by God -- and get on his mailing and call list....

Sheesh!

LOL! "After he used the Miracle Manna, his kidneys started working!"

"Somebody told me about your offer and I was HEALED OF MS!"

"Look at this! This is a modern day 21st century miracle. And as you use the Miracle Manna and release your faith -- you're gonna see a MIRACLE! hallelujah!"

Ayaaaaa!!! Seriously, why are these people NOT IN PRISON!?

I have no idea who Peter Popoff is but, while we're about it, why are not those behind the greedy oil companies, greedy banks, greedy lawyers, greedy pharmaceutical companies, greedy realtors, greedy politicians, etc. etc. in jail? The thieves that are presently serving time in prison are just the small fry. Corporate crime is rampant. Almost everybody is ripping us off and no one cares. It's actually encouraged. It becomes a case where one has to try to rip off another before they themselves are ripped off by that other. And hatred? Does anyone actually LIKE anyone any more? It's as Phil Donahue once said on one of his talk shows, "It seems as if everybody (in the U.S.) wants to execute somebody."

I so hate the world we live in. And, whoever YOU are, Peter Popoff, I hate you too. And I hate your stupid name. So there!

I have no idea who Peter Popoff is

Peter Popoff is a special type of scum of the earth. He is (was?) a faith healer that was particularly popular in the 80s. One of the popular things he used to do was to choose a person out of the audience and be able to know a whole bunch of information about him/her (i.e. their name, where they're from, what disease needs they want to be healed, etc). He said it was God was telling him all the information. James Randi, a magician and career debunker, investigated him and discovered that it was not God that was telling Popoff all this information, but Popoff's wife, who used information collected before the event and transmitted to Popoff through a small radio transmitter in his ear. Popoff would also appear to be able to make people in wheelchairs be able to walk, but the people could already walk, Popoff would just put them in wheelchairs - it's a common faith healer scam. Randi exposed all this on the Tonight Show in the 80s, which basically ruined Popoff.

Faith healers are really quite interesting actually. It's amazing what they manage to get their audience to believe and how well they are able to get the audience to participate in perpetuating the scam. I suggest reading "Faith Healers" by James Randi.

Folks like Peter Popoff really grind my gears. They pretend to really care for those they're taking money from, but in reality they're just robbing them with false promises.

Instead of running ministeries and churchs that create real, loving, friendly, helpful and charitable communities, "faith healers" go around promising things they can not provide. They take money from those desperate enough to seek fringe treatments. It's horrible.

If the money that went into "faith healers" went instead into community churches that have soup kitchens, childminding, food drives, school supplies drives, clean-up-the-shore groups, meals-on-wheels, or even just choirs, teatime groups, Bible study groups, and other things that create community and support networks, it would be a wonderful miracle!
