Maybe they want to include as much as possible from the book (the trolls, Rivendel, the orcs, the eagles, Beorn, the spiders, the Elves, the 'barrel ride', lake town, Smaug, the battle of the five armies. That definitely will take two movies.

I'm exicted and can't wait!
