  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't understand why some people offer to "help" after you've expressed a specific need. But they have very little idea how to help you so they just stand around waiting for you to approve of what they're doing. It's worse than having no help because then you have to babysit someone while YOU take care of your own need!! I could do it faster myself!

Stupid things that should work, but don't. I'm trying to get my credit report online. The first Web site asked me a bunch of questions and then wouldn't give me my report. The second Web site provided a link to my credit report, but the link didn't work. Now I'm dealing with "customer service" to get what should be free but is definitely not easy to obtain.

We all have pet peeves. Isn't it nice that sometimes -- sometimes -- someone gets their come uppance as well? Today I was in the grocery store parking lot, in my car. A woman comes up; she has parked her minivan in a "compact" space next to me. She opens her door and HITS my car with it, but is she the least bit concerned? Nope. I am miffed. I try to catch her eye, but she avoids looking at me. She backs out, and I get out of my car to check if there's a ding on my door. Even then, she doesn't look at me, doesn't acknowledge that she's done anything. I watch her as she drives away and -- get this -- I notice that she's left a paper cup of coffee on the roof of the car. As she turns out of the lot, the cup goes flying, dumping the coffee onto her car -- and probably into her open window. I'll admit: I laughed out loud. :D

having bought a quick set pool with a filter/pump, and not being able to find replacement cartridges for the filter! ANYWHERE!
then having to buy a new pool with a bigger filter because it was more economical to do that then to purchase a new filter/pump! :doh:

I simply cannot read through all 14 pages of this interesting thread at one time, so I hope I'm not duplicating. :sorry:

Saying "nuke-you-lar." (Mike is guilty of this.) The correct pronunciation is "nuke-lee-ar." Look at the way the word is spelled, "nuclear," and note that there is no vowel between the C and the L.

Typing "u" for "you" and "ur" for "your" or "you are." Textspeech and Lolspeech in general just look uneducated to me. (We need a rolling-eyes smiley.)

Confusing "it's" with "its." The contraction "it's" is short for "it is." The possessive "its" does not take an apostrophe. The cat yowled when I stepped on it is tail? No, that doesn't make sense. So the correct word is "its tail," not "it's tail."

Pronouncing letters that are supposed to be silent. The T in "often" is supposed to be dropped, although enough people put it in, that the dictionary now includes both pronunciations with the dropped T first. My mother pronounces the B in "subtle," and I'm sorry but it sounds ignorant.

My pet peeve::wave:

People that don't let God do the judging and judge other based on what they think they Know. It is not my job, to judge others, I am a very flawed human being, trying to live as God ask me to do.
Matt. 7:1-2

1.Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2.For with what judgement ye judge , ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.:amen:
