  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

(not names for your animals)

So when I'm in the bathroom standing on the cold tile barefoot, I curl up my toes and feet because I hate walking on the cold tile, and I try to get to the bathmat as fast as possible. So my wife calls me "Wuss Foot." :D

What are some of your pet names you call your spouse or your spouse calls you? What's the story behind them?

We don't have pet names for each other but we do for some of our children. One of my most beautiful daughters is called E... We call her Lizards because the Leaping lizards scene from Annie somehow got in the meme of our family. E was at a birthday party of another little girl and the dad called her Lizards and his mom yelled at him for it and he told her that is what people called her and she didn't believe him.

We don't have pet names, just endearments. We are "honey" to each other, but that's all. If I want to be particularly spiteful I call my DH "sweetie" because he hates that. :) The kids have all kinds of nicknames ... but my little one has always been "duck" and I don't even know why. "Duck" or "ducky". He was, I guess, "my little duck." Ha.

My kids are the ones with the pet names. Some of them grew out of younger ones not being able to say older ones' names. Some were because the child in question couldn't pronounce his own name. This is how my kids know how much trouble they're in. If I use the pet name, not so much. If I use the correct first name...a little. First and middle...more. First, middle and last...oh boy!!!

There are times when I can't remember the child's name. I finally just point and say "YOU!" or I go down the list. Its a wee bit easier now that there's only 4 at home and only 1 girl. I have a better shot at getting it right!

My husband is named Bob and I call him Bobzilla. I don't know why. It just fit. He calls me Not Debby. The story behind that is that for about a year one of his coworkers kept calling me Debby. Finally, he told the coworker, "Her name is not Debby." So he started calling me Not Debby. Now my husband and everyone he works with calls me Not Debby. I like that better than my own name and the reason I spell it with a y is because so many video games only allow 8 characters for names so Not Debbie was out.

I even want a tag for my car that says NOTDEB.
