Perhaps. Then again, a tire that looks flat may be just flat.
(bracing myself for the "it's only flat on the bottom" counter-argument")
This is the problem when believing in words from a book. That contradicts itself, the real world and the truth.
People can start to interpret it to mean anything. Add that to what they hear in their head. And we have the key for good or evil. As evil is the likely to win. We have had burning people, drowning them, wars, genocide and more wickedness. Because of the blind faith of the followers, believing if they don't agree, they don't go to Heaven, and for some religions. If they do as they're told, not only do the go to Heaven, they have virgins waiting there for them.
Which when one thinks about it, is pretty silly. Give me a girl who knows what she's doing every time.
Someone asked my why I was no longer a Christian. Seems pretty clear really.
Clear as mud. The bible is beautiful, people like you are unable to perceive it.
I have read the works of many NT scholar and historian and most will state; the NT is a terrific work of theology, but is not a reliable account of history.
In regards to the theology part, people typically interpret the theology in a such a way, that suits them personally.
Yes a beautiful book, like Lord of the Rings, Hamlet, Iliad, etc.Clear as mud. The bible is beautiful, people like you are unable to perceive it.
You need a few miracles to prove the benefits that will change your thinking.Yes a beautiful book, like Lord of the Rings, Hamlet, Iliad, etc.
The shame is people cherry pick parts to further their own ends.
So a book that misleads is something to be wary of?You need a few miracles to prove the benefits that will change your thinking.
Thinking is stinking. Many thoughts come from an entity that mislead.
You have no idea how tricky they are. And just as ugly when confronted.
"Be still and know".psalms
I would reveal things that would make your hair stand on end, (If you have hair that is)
I hope one day you can meet that entity, then you will know for yourself.
By the way, it is speaking through you.
It is not the book that misleads.
There is more to the bible than history.
It speaks of the present that most miss.
I don't interpret the bible, I scan it to see what applies to me.
This is a inner personal path, not an learning path.
Well, there is little history in the bible, correct. The bible is about theology.
And I would agree, depending on how one reads and interprets the book, you can apply it to just about anything today.
And sorry, whenever a human reads any words, some level of interpretation is involved.
Spiritual people rarely read scripture, only the religious studiers are.Would this mean, all spiritual people agree with the meaning of scripture?
That's all I hear "I can tell things" with "If only you believed".I would reveal things that would make your hair stand on end, (If you have hair that is)

All language was confused, even the scriptures, [by design] at the Tower of Babel. It was purposely riddled to make it difficult, to separate the wheat from the chaff. Only those who hear and see the clues God has built into his design...figure it out and get on the right path through the jungle of misinterpretations. This is the problem when believing in words from a book. Were the OT and NT written before or after the Tower of Babel? All language was confused, even the scriptures, [by design] at the Tower of Babel. I've read the Bible from cover to cover. It is beautiful...as long as I cherry pick its meaning. When I keep it in mind as a complete work, it has some very ugly parts and aspects.
You do not understand when you say the only way we get self correction is through thoughts, Everyone has an entity in them that speaks to us and we think those are our thoughts.
the Holy Spirit speaks to us and corrects us.
Psalm, Be still and know God" not through thought.
Gods way is a mystery for our protection.
that is why scripture tells us to "take every thought captive.".

That is where you go wrong. Thinking is your only source of self-correction. People who don't think are locked in whatever subconsciously calculated views they may have picked up over the years.
And Cult 101 teaches that one must get the followers to doubt their thoughts, otherwise the doctrine may be doubted. It's a way of locking people in place.
