  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

God is perfect....but we each have our different views of what perfect is.
Does that mean God is the TRUE perfect that we just do not know the meaning to yet, or perfect to each of us in our own way?
Excellent question! And your question reveals something that you might not know that you believe - that each individual does not determine what is perfect, or beautiful, or good - there is an objective perfection, beauty, and goodness. As Irenaeus said, the way to discover that is by learning more about God. Wherever God is, He will be revealed in a particular way.

God can't be perfect to each of us in our own way because that would mean God would have to change, and He doesn't. Also, as you eluded to, our own view of perfection is not necessarily what it is ... our perception does not determine reality, but rather reflects it. That "reflection" has varying degrees of accurateness, but our perception in and of itself, does not change what (and in this case, Who) IS.

I suppose it doesn't really matter....but I was just thinking...

This might help you understand why God is perfect. None of us is perfect because each one of us is dependent on many things for our survival in this world. Now God is the only being who is completely independent. His independence makes Him perfect as the more independent one is the more perfect he becomes. Or if you want to put it the other way around, the more perfect one becomes the more one becomes independent. Let's say your skin is flawless and your face is close to being perfect, you don't have to depend on make-up to be beautiful. That's my 2 cents.
