  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Perfect Faith

Matthew 14:29-31... “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

None of us will have a perfect faith. This story of Peter is comforting. Here is a disciple - who knew Jesus - Jesus was right before his eyes - yet he was human and couldn't help looking at the storm. We are all human, in the flesh, we at times will get it right & stay focused on Jesus, other times we will glance at the storm & start sinking because we are not perfect.

This story has great hope in it - it tells me that as long as we keep trying to follow Jesus, to walk on water thru the storms, even if we fail {and we will at times} IMMEDIATELY Jesus will catch us! So...

Stay focused on the Lord Jesus Christ and don't beat yourself up if you start sinking, Jesus will catch you and lift you up so you can try again!

Keep trying no matter what or how many times you fail, never, never give up!

Psalm 37:23-24... If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

___________

Thank You Lord that You are there to catch us when we start 'sinking'. Thank You that You use us even though we do not have a perfect faith. Lord, show us how to use the faith we have! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for sharing this...especially Psalm 37:23-24

If the Lord delights in a man's way, He...(OUR LORD does it) makes his steps firm; tho he stumble he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

This so encourages me today...walking on the waters of my particular storm today.

Isn't it good - all we need is a 'mustard seed' worth of faith to keep going?

Matthew 17:20 ... I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
