  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

People pleasing is a form of idoling. We are meant to please God not people. Of course it is good to share the love of God with people...who does that please? God. :)
But if it's to gain their approval we are exalting their opinion of us over our Obedience to God. We should always love and reach out to others, but we must make sure that we are always led by Holy Spirit. Especially around unbelievers because they don't have the same mindset yet.
We are not of this world, and it's ok to blend in a little. Just never lose your integrity and your identity in Christ. He will show you.
Sometimes it's hard to do this...our soul may want to conform to the situation. We are so blessed as Christians to be able to not need to conform, and also not judge the people around us either.
I sometimes need a Holy Spirit check about this sometimes. It's a process.
The love of God is an amazing thing!
We are called to love everyone. There will be people we like and dislike. That just kind of happens. But that's our soul that is in charge of that. So Concentrate on that amazing love that is inside your spirit. That pleases God. :)

John 15:18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.

John 15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

II Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

II Corinthians 6:15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

I Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

God doesn't talk to us clearly like in the Bible though, so how are we supposed to know what he really wants? With a physical person you can directly ask and they'll answer.

I understand what you are saying...he was very clear when he spoke to the people we read about in the bible. Like Noah, Moses...
We can learn to hear his voice clearly, it takes practice and discernment
He talks to is through the word too. And anything he tells us personally we should test with the word
It's a process but it possible to hear him in radical clear ways. Just be hungry for it and discover how to listen...it's different for everyone.
