People who dont understand big words like that shouldnt post. :p

You mean people who do should give their head a shake and realize that big words do not necessarily mean they are more intellegent, just means they make a point to learn big words so they look so. :p ^_^ :p

Saying the church of England came from Joseph of Arimathea is a myth........

Much like John the Apostle and Mary Magdalen came to France........

That aside the break with the church of England from Rome over an annulment........

There was a Celtic Rite which was very independant, but that church was not in England, that church was in Norther Britain, Brittany and Ireland.

I said "Traditionally by St. Joseph of Arimathea;" I never said I believed it ;) The point was that Christianity indeed was present as early as the 1st century.

And actually, England and Rome were historically distant even during the pre-Henric days. Very little trade and only superficial authority was what the bishops of Rome held over Britain. British bishops had their own traditions (Celtic Christianity) and it was only after St. Augustine came to be archbishop of Canterbury that many of those traditions were "subdued," though in reality they meshed with the new Roman See traditions. Rome never could break Britain in submission. They never saw him as anything more than a first-among-equals; not a "pope."

I hope and pray you are joking..

I didn't say that all Catholics came by force but alot did in the first couple of generations. The Catholic Church continues to flourish because the majority of Catholics believe that since they go to church and confess their sins to a Priest that this will save them. Thus the majority of Catholics I know live a good moral life but don't get anywhere because the church tells the mass that they don't have to read the word. I talk to alot of Catholics and they have no clue about scriptures.
I am not saying this about all Catholics because alot of you know alot and the same goes for Protestant churches in America that focus on OSAS doctrine and sugarcoat the word to keep people in church.

Peace.

Good evidence that one's church doesn't make one a good Christian. I think the fact that sincere, God-seeking Christians are not found only in one denomination, combined with the fact that there are weak Christians in every group, means that no group has some great superiority over the others. Oblio, I would tell you that God would rather have a sincere, God-fearing Protestant than an Orthodox who just "plays church." And He would rather have a sincere Orthodox than a lukewarm Protestant. There are things more important than your affiliation. It's not about who you're with, but Who you're with.

Oh, and by the way, where's the serial comma in your signature? ;)

No Catholics believe that.

We are saved by the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. Never have I been told that we are saved by going to mass and confession. These are works and none of our works are good enough to yield us salvation.
It is only the works of God that we are saved. It is by our faith and our openness to His means of grace that we are granted salvation from God.

Most protestants don't seem to have a clue either.
Saying the Church tells us we don't have the read the bible is silly. The bible is read from at every mass. However, we are not saved by reading the Gospels. We are not even granted salvation because we have read the Gospels.
We are granted salvation by faith and God granting of grace.
