Charlie Brown Christmas: ALWAYS a favorite! Outshines many of the other Christmas specials in that it exalts the true Reason for the Season -- Jesus!

The "This Is America" miniseries wasn't bad, either.

There was also a special from when I was a kid where Lucy made up her own version of Simon Says.... entitled "Listen to Lucy"!

Also worth mentioning is the short-lived "Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show" which aired in the '80s.... stories came straight from the comic strips.

Who else enjoys these timeless TV classics? Let's discuss them here!!

Yes, I agree about the Christmas special - it's great when Linus quotes scripture!

I'm not familiar with the other ones you mentioned, but have enjoyed other Peanuts specials and enjoy reading the comic strips as well. We have a few books of them.

Great idea for a thread!

Charles Schultz was a genius, and in his own way shared his faith.

I admire Mr. Schulz for that reason. Even right in the comic strip he talked quite a bit about Jesus and the Bible.

Yes, Charlie Brown Christmas is one of the best Peanuts shows, ever. It is one of the few programs shown around Christmastime where the real reason of the season is touched on.

And who better to share this but LINUS? I think he was the little preacher of the Peanuts gang.

I like the newest special that came out this year, called Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown, which I recently got on DVD. Turns out that Craig Schulz (one of Sparky's sons) is one of the producers behind it, and that it was done in the "old style" of animation with some of the characters that were popular mostly in the earlier years of the cartoon. Great message regarding security, and recommended for kids and adults alike.
