Funnily enough, in the last couple of weeks I've changed more than I can still account for. I think I found something I haven't experienced in a long time... peace.
I think, maybe that is what the Church is lacking, after finding it myself, I know thats what its lacking. We struggle and we strive, and we discuss looking for answers, but its like a man who has a million dollars, but lives like a beggar. Its a complicated issue really, Love is a multi - faceted jewel beyond compare and I think peace is at its center. Unless you are willing to simply have what you have, then love will never be good enough. That isn't totally clear....
Peace, the ability to rest, the one thing that sets us apart as Christians. The world's winds blow, the storms crash, and there we are standing on that rock of peace unwavering. Its not angry or fist shaking, its constant, a stand, a place that in all of our brokeness we cannot be moved. Peace that overwhelming hope.
I think maybe, we spend to much time theorizing and not enough time with well, THE PRINCE OF PEACE! We resist dragons and we fight tempests, and the hydras claw and bite, but we are pushed ever on with our feet wrapped in peace. It is our ability to move, and it is our ability to stand. We stumble because we lose our peace...
Many complain about lack of confidence, but it is a lack of peace.... We step off the rock, and what are we against a storm when standing in the sand?
Peace, the one thing that when you have it, everything has its place. Its the one thing that can't be understood, unless you are touched by it. In a world at war, we are bastions of that peace, we are not fighting a battle, we are ending it! Men come with swords and destruction, but we are unshaken because we have something that makes us unmovable, something that makes our words more powerful, we have Jesus the Prince of Peace, and nothing can stop us if we simply let peace carry us.
