Peace, if possible, but the TRUTH at any rate." (Martin Luther)

That is one of my favorite all time quotes. It is from Martin Luther! Peace if possible, but the truth at any rate.
We always want peace, but the important thing is to ALWAYS preach the truth! No matter what the outcome, we should ALWAYS preach the truth!

Yall got any favorite quotes that you would like to share?

God Bless,
Joe

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you a car.
~Laurence J. Peter

No desire will ever be placed in you by the Holy Spirit unless He intends to fulfill it. So let your faith rise up and soar away to claim all the land you can discover.

~ Augustine

I grant [that] thieves and murderers and other evil doers are the instruments of divine providence, and the Lord Himself uses these to carry out the judgments that He has determined. . . . Yet I deny that they can derive from this any excuse for their evil deeds. . . . Since the matter and guilt of evil repose in a wicked man, what reason is there to think that God contracts any defilement, if He uses his services for His own purpose?
~ John Calvin

Man falls as God's providence ordains, but he falls by his own fault.
~ John Calvin

God's control is absolute in the sense that men do only that which He has ordained that they should do; yet they are truly free agents in the sense that their decisions are their own, and they are morally responsible for them.
~ J. I. Packer

Believers are no more able now of themselves to think one good thought, to form one good desire, to speak one good word, or to do one good work, than before they were justified.
~ John Wesley

Cast yourself into the arms of God and be very sure that if He wants anything of you, He will fit you for the work and give you strength.
~ Philip Neri

When we walk with the Lord, we’ll be out of step with the world.
~ Unknown

Worldlings may well be afraid, for they have an angry God above them, a guilty conscience within them, and a yawning hell beneath them; but we who rest in Jesus are saved from all these through rich mercy.
~ Charles H. Spurgeon

Light is always costly and comes at the expense of that which produces it.
~ L. B. Cowman

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.
~ Jim Elliot

Following the path of least resistance is what makes men and rivers crooked.

God loves you the way you are, but He loves you too much to leave you the way you are.

The woods would be very silent if the only birds that sang were those that sang the very best.
~ John L. Mason

If you continue to do what’s right, what’s wrong and who’s wrong will eventually leave your live.
~ David Blunt

It is important that people know what you stand for; it is equally important that they know what you won’t stand for.
~ John L. Mason

The Dead Sea is a dead sea because it continually receives and never gives.

Some people speak from experience; others, from experience, don’t speak.
~ John L. Mason

When you have been wronged, a poor memory is your best response. . . . Forgive your enemies -- nothing annoys them more. There is no revenge so sweet as forgiveness. The only people you should try to get even with are those who have helped you. . . . People need loving most when they deserve it least. Forgiveness heals; unforgiveness wounds.

The measure of a person’s real character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out. Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation because your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

When I was young, I was sure of everything; in a few years, having been mistaken a thousand times, I was not half so sure of most things as I was before; at present, I am hardly sure of anything but what God has revealed to me.
~ John Wesley

Doubt sees the obstacles
Faith sees the way.
Doubt sees the darkest night
Faith sees the day.
Doubt dreads to take a step
Faith soars on high.

To have a fulfilling life, let God fill you.
~ Anonymous

When the sky is overcast with dense clouds, and a violent tempest arises, the darkness which is presented to our eye, and the thunder which strikes our ears, and stupefies all our senses with terror, make us imagine that every thing is thrown into confusion, though in the firmament itself all continues quiet and serene. In the same way, when the tumultuous aspect of human affairs unfits us for judging, we should still hold, that God, in the pure light of his justice and wisdom, keeps all these commotions in due subordination, and conducts them to their proper end.
~ John Calvin

The distinction between God’s Will, in terms of His secret Providence, and God’s Will, in terms of those precepts which He has revealed in His Word, is a crucial one in any discussion of the Will of God. Both aspects are properly spoken of as His Will, but only the latter aspect is given to us as the rule for our obedience.
~ Robert J. Dunzweiler

If we design anything contrary to His precept, it is not obedience, but contumacy and transgression. But if He did not will it, we could not do it. I admit this. But do we act wickedly for the purpose of yielding obedience to Him? This, assuredly, He does not command. Nay, rather we rush on, not thinking of what He wishes, but so inflamed by our own passionate lust, that, with destined purpose, we strive against Him. And in this way, while acting wickedly, we serve His righteous ordination, since in His boundless wisdom He well knows how to use bad instruments for good purposes.
~ John Calvin
