• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I pray to Jesus, I haven't used a celebrate recovery group but have talk to friends. I don't know what an elder is. I have called the suicide hotline. I am debating seeing a professional for counseling cuz he will just try to convince me not to harm myself, but the problem will still exist so no point in going. I don't know what scriptures to look for.

"No point in going" is a useless attitude that doesn't do you any good. Myself, and plenty of others know from experience that treatment can help. And what didn't help me, paved the way for something that eventually did. It takes time, resilience, sometimes different treatments, but in the end it can be really good for you. There is point in going. Especially if your alternative is a miracle healing or a suicide. Anyone can see how that's harmful and blind.

Believe me, I had that "I know better" attitude too. I rebelled against many treatments, quit them when I didn't see immediate results, and got back into my dark pit of misery. It didn't get me anywhere, so I had to give professional help another shot. A few shots in fact.

I'm not angry at you, and I don't want to sound like a dick, but anything that can help you, be it effective now or 5 years from now, is something worth doing. I'm glad you at least called somewhere and have tolaked to friends. Well done, that is a start. Said a prayer for you.

Actually, a psychiatrist can prescribe anti-depressant drugs, if he deems that you have a serious brain chemistry issue. And the problem won't be limited to that, it has to do with you feeling isolated and hopeless, they have ways of talking you out of the addiction. Depression is just as much an addiction as any drugs, alcohol, sexual immorality, rage, OCD, bipolar syndrome, or any other addiction. Celebrate Recovery is also a Christian therapy to help you overcome your sin addiction.

As for the scriptures to read, did you read the passage I gave you in Romans 8? Read the whole chapter. It shows that the apostle has himself experienced something similar to what you are experiencing, and it can give you some understanding that you are not alone in your struggle, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. God will not test you beyond your ability, but will provide a way of escape (2 Corinthians 10), but you must seek Him for it - not merely praying, but expecting an answer from God. Also Psalm 42 is a good start - how about daily reading it until you really get what it is saying?

BTW, I live in Texas, where do you live?

Can you elaborate on the "bad things"? If it's uncomfortable or painful please don't but it's helpful to us if you can be somewhat specific. Thx.

Like tax issues, multiple things breaking down at once
Oh, ok. I was thinking you meant unchristian behavior toward you by others at church (not uncommon at all btw).

Some people may tend to overspiritualize and say well, it's because you are trying to follow God more closely, more serious about spiritual things, attending church, ect. So Satan is messing with you for attempting to play for the other team as it were.

While I am not saying spiritual attacks cannot and do not happen (we live in a fallen world) my opinion in the context of your question is that this is life and____happens to all of us.

I do pray to Jesus for any type of help a lot. I know it takes time but when there doesn't seem to be a response, that is where the hopelessness creeps back in.

I do Pray to Jesus all the time. I know its about patience and things but when you are going through it with improvement over time, that is where the hopelessness creeps back in. I will continue to pray though.

Jesus talks through life in truth, but the problem so very often is that our life is not in His truth but captive in satan's lies instead, yet not until we follow the truth of God's word will we meet Jesus, it is as simple as that. I also waited for many years, but He wouldn't come, yet when I 'accidentally' dwelt in the truth of His Word, I found Him, or rather He found me, and I haven't looked back since and it is great to know Him so personally and closely as The Word of God brings Him to us.

The truth is I found Jesus in my suffering self. In me that was 'the one' I had hated and despised when I walked in sin. The one in myself I wanted to get rid of because I didn't like what I saw. 'The one' I crucified in exchange for the rebel and desperado I became walking in satan's, my own and the world's/religion's lies.

Finding Jesus is giving a cup of water to the beggars, the homeless, the addicts, the prostitutes, the imprisoned and those destined to die, even within your own inner reality, not just on the streets. Though on the city streets did I learn what Jesus meant when He said the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, and those invited refuse to come, so those not invited will enter the Feast. The truth is that finding Jesus is very personal and not until the religious and worldly teachings within us have perished will we see the light of Day - our Lord Jesus arising on the clouds of Heaven. This is fist of all a spiritual experience and not just a physical one as so many religious teachings have us believe down here. (See John 14 for example.)

So if you pray to Jesus and He doesn't come to comfort and help you then the Jesus you are praying to is either not true Jesus, or someone or something is keeping you from seeing/meeting Him, for Jesus always comes soon when we call upon Him, He doesn't delay ever. Just as is written in His Word.

So please consider carefully what inside of your inner reality is keeping you from setting your eyes on the Son of God. Are it not the lies of your depression which you have been following all this time and have brought you with one foot in the grave? Please be aware that the word of God warns us that many anti-Christs will come but that we can recognize them by their fruit - for do we pick grapes from thistles, or figs from thorn bushes - neither does praying to God without hearing, help or comfort bring us to Christ, rather following such a path will destroy us in our faith for God never seems to answer us making our misery worse not better, especially when we need Him so badly.

To find Christ we have to find/meet the living word of God within our own hearts and minds. The Word of God teaching us, helping us, comforting us, saving us, and keeping us from harm no matter how bad our physical, mental or spiritual reality might become - time and again!!! This can only happen when we firstly firmly believe what is written in God's word, and secondly follow His truth in our lives, learning to love truthfully just as He does. Wherever I have found people doing that the comfort of God's presence has been with them even under the worst circumstances imaginable.

So please understand that believing lies about God, yourself or your neighbour will not bring Christ, no matter how much you pray to God for salvation. The very images the lies you believe about God, yourself and your neighbour have set up within your heart and mind will keep you from having true communion with Him - like believing that killing yourself is a truthful solution to your suffering will never bring Christ but keep Him away from you. Honest my dear brother not until the abomination which causes desolation is revealed within will Christ come to save you. (Matthew 24)

When I realized that I had been serving my guilty conscience as god, always heeding the accuser as a servant of God and not the Gospel of forgiveness of sins through the blood of The Lamb, not walking under the umbrella of God's grace over me believing that. After I realized that it didn't take long for the dragon and the harlot on his back to be revealed right within my heart and mind. Neither did it take long after that for the son of lawlessness to claim godhead - instead of love for God and neighbour - and celebrate grace as an excuse to continue in sin and the Day of Christ's revealing right within my own inner dwelling place is about to take place.

It has to do with faith in God's loving truth and love for God and neighbour dear brother, when you do that then the living word will certainly come and rescue you from your times of distress time and again.

So please brother don't just pray for Jesus to come and then accept that He doesn't and continue in your suffering alone and forsaken entertaining murderous thoughts and desires instead. Rather endeavour to follow the truth of God's Word and so meet Him along the way and live. When you see that God's word is becoming true within you then you know that you have bumped into His truth and then you will soon be able to drink from the living waters that flow from Him. Honestly true!

He is a great God, very faithful, unbelievable loving, and truer than true in my heart. It is because of this that I finally after all these years in the desert, have arrived in the promised land and enjoy His loving truth to comfort me - I was at the end of my forties before that happened, so please don't give up brother. Neither just pray and wait, but also work/endeavour to enter that narrow gate and learn to love God and neighbour, as well as yourself because God does. Please, please brother dump any thoughts about killing yourself, such are very hot potatoes for Scripture doesn't give you or anyone else permission to do that. Even Job though he longed to die, and Westerns would quickly say God had done him an injustice, so that Job could legitimately charge God with wrong, repented in dust and ashes when he met up with God's truth. Please ponder on that my friend, especially the last 3 or 4 chapters of that bible book are very revealing when you consider them in the light of your suffering and crippling depression and the forces within you who are causing all that and why.

Peace and many blessings your way.

This Word is one of the prophecies Jesus will bring about within your heart if you dare to follow His truth and cut with the lies of satan.

Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
Strangers will shepherd your flocks;
foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
And you will be called priests of the Lord,
you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
and in their riches you will boast.

Instead of your shame
you will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,
and everlasting joy will be yours.

“For I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
and make an everlasting covenant with them.
Their descendants will be known among the nations
and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”

I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
For as the soil makes the sprout come up
and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
and praise spring up before all nations.

Thank you Jeahu, can you explain this iin detail, "So please understand that believing lies about God, yourself or your neighbour will not bring Christ, no matter how much you pray to God for salvation. how do I reveal the Abomination Within? I also realize that suicide is not a good solution. I realize all of my sinful behavior and I don't want to keep Jesus from me. I try to stop these dark thoughts from entering my head but every morning they return. I realize I am suffering from depression, hopelessness, and suicidal thoughts, and I know what is causing this, so what can I do to bring Jesus into my life fully. I feel Jesus forgave my sins, and I am willing to do what it takes to get better. How can I get Jesus to motivate me to continue going on, I am honest with myself, I think as well. Can you let me know what else I can do?

Armageddon.

In my inner world life died everywhere,
famine taking what sword had left behind.
Brim and hailstones flattening what stood up,
no escape from the carnage I could find.

Awed I saw Jesus the evil fight,
turning my world into a battleground.
I saw billows of smoke rising up high,
rolling thunder through my world rebound.

I watched as scorpions paraded my soul,
stinging those godless in their lust.
Massive grasshoppers devouring all my good,
fierce horses trampling me to dust.

I saw much of my greenery burn-up,
fleets of cargo ships sadly perish.
Daily trade coming to an abrupt hold,
ungodly rulers wrong to cherish.

I saw the Dragon reigning his subjects,
watched the numbered die like flies.
I heard the false prophet's constant lying,
demons smearing God's love with lies.

It was the blood drinking prostitute,
which flabbergasted me the most.
Unfaithfulness killing God's chosen,
with fiery death she was deposed.

I saw my world's kingdom going down,
ruling Babylon fall in one day.
With two thirds of my world wiped out,
I watched true Peace coming to stay.

And so watching God's own safely at home,
I finally let my tears run dry.
Seeing Jesus arising on the clouds,
I joined the Hallelujah cry.

All of this is a spiritual process brother which happens when you follow in the footsteps of Jesus and His Disciples, to love God and neighbour. To find the truth you ought to see two witnesses in your life - The Word of God as a book in front of you - and the Word of God living right within you. (Zechariah 5)

1 John 2:14
I write to you, dear children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

When I was deeply depressed I used to heed the accuser dragon - or satan the destroyer - and not the truth of the word of God even though the accuser used the word of God all the time - but he twisted it to mean destruction of the sinner me and not the salvation of the sinner me - it was this that caused my depression to be so bad for I thought myself doomed instead of saved.

To see the abomination that causes desolation is to see the true reasons why your inner reality is so dark and dead within - the fact that you serve the deceiver, judging your own and other peoples sin, and not looking at your Heavenly Father forgiving your sins because of Christ sake and setting you free with the truth of His Word. (The abomination that causes desolation wiped out Jerusalem and the whole Jewish state in 70AD after they had crucified their Saviour influenced by that impostor, as prophesied by the book of Daniel.)

Each time God's Word, or religious morals or values judge you without taking the sacrifice of Christ into account you can hear the abomination that causes desolation speaking within you. The abomination that causes desolation is to think about God in a way that turns Him into a Dragon firing us with our sins and not a loving forgiving gracious God who loves us while we are still sinners and send Jesus down here to die for our sins and pay our debt.

To believe that you have been forgiven your sins by Christ even while you are still a sinner is very difficult to do - for on the one hand the accuser comes and fires you with your wrongdoings trying to make you fear God's wrath again and not holding onto the forgiveness of sins by the blood of Christ, while on the other hand you get lawlessness within you trying to tell you that sin doesn't matter any more and that you are going to live forever in glorious Heaven a sinner.

For when we stop judging and condemning our and other peoples sins then the lawless one - sinfulness living within us - will come to try and talk sin (any selfish, boastful or loveless wrongdoing) right within us and even arrogantly claim that we saved sinners are going to receive the godhead - (Daniel 7) when this lawless thinking threatens to become dominant (king within our heart and mind) then Jesus is revealed within us, for The Word of God will cut such selfish sinfulness living within us down - and take us through the book of Revelation to set us free from our worldly and religious mindsets and renew our mind to think, serve and understand His Word as an active part of our life down here.

The bible is a spiritual journey that will make ever prophecy written come true right within your inner reality, when the Word takes you on this journey then you know that Jesus has come back for you and that ever word written there in is about to come true.

So the first thing to do to hasten the coming of the Lord is to follow His command, and He commands that we love God the Father for sending Jesus and love another because this fulfills all the commandments of God.

Jesus says;

John 14:23-24
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

In a nutshell - learn to read the Word of God personally and to understand that both good and bad dwelt within you and that the curses of God's Word are on the evil - bad life dwelling within you - and the blessings of God's Word are on those/that/ the ones in you who suffers bad life but long for God's good life.

Trust in God's forgiveness 100 percent and learn to love all people unconditionally like God does, including yourself for Christ sake.
Get The Word into you - read the Word of God personally to yourself and your inner world of being and not just literally, historically or theologically.

  • Fight the accuser dragon accusing, judging and condemning.
  • Fight the great prostitute alluring/tempting both through the world and through the sweet extra biblical rules, values and morals of religious perspectives.
  • Fight the false prophet predicting doom (or glory when you adhere to the dragon/guilty conscience and not God's loving truth) and speculating on God's truth.
  • Fight the lawless one(s) sinning.

If you do this then you will find that the Word of God will begin to live within you more and more and become your 'spokesperson' within you, guiding, comforting, teaching and revealing God's loving truth to you from countless different angles and perspectives. When you see God's truth alive within then you know that Jesus is really with you and fear, worry and anxiety will begin to lose their power over you as well as depression, though this may take a few years to grow strong and completely meaningful.

Be of very good courage brother with Jesus on board you can beat your depression and gain the life you were meant to live.

I wrote this poem after Christ took me through two of Scriptures 3 1/2 year cycles and came down into my life making His dwelling place in my heart as He had promised me (and us all,) setting me free from my oppressors, renewing my mind and setting me free in His loving truth.

Zion Descending

At first I heard Dad say,
"Son let us make tracks,
its near getting dark now,
the chosen are all asleep,
now would be best,
as darkness reigns its peak,
for arrogance has him blinded,
to what is really going on."

I saw the sunlight darkened,
the moon turn to blood,
and the stars falling from Heaven.
I felt everything shaking in its boots.
I heard about wars and rumours of wars.
I experienced famine and drought,
grand scale living in wantonness,
rulers making a living out of sin,
Satan's forces installed everywhere,
loveless forces ruling untruthfully.

I heard my inner world crying out in her dying pain,
"What is going on?
The Father is leaving us without the Son,
this can only evil mean."
I heard the angels blow the trumpets!
"Woe to the inhabitants of this soul!"

I heard the agonising cries,
coming from underneath the altar,
the dead in God's love, longingly,
awaiting newness of life!
"Yes, oh Lord, pour out their blood as they did ours!"

I heard the thunders rolling throughout my being,
"Let evil brood fear The Truth of God almighty!
Let judgement begin in The House of God!"

I knew judgement had already began,
when I beheld those massive hails stones,
tumbling down on the heads of the wicked.
I watched my enemies flee in terror!
Scorpion stings burning wrong,
horse hooves kicking up dirt,
truthfulness uncovering shame,
honesty baring nakedness,
the dung of the earth warring,
lies sores causing agony,
pestilence threatening,
as grasshoppers devoured,
my enemies food and good life!

It was fascinating to see,
how weak those are...,
.....so strong in lies!

Yes, honest!
Loving truth is like that!
The freedom to be,
true to yourself,
both in good and bad,
in His love to be.

Oh the release of faith!
Heart rendering awe!
Shouts of glorious praise!
Jumping joy - pure ecstasy!
Glorying in God almighty,
my life's tormentors died,
perishing one after the other.

Seeing Jesus on His white horse,
a blazing sword coming out of His mouth,
His all conquering loving truth
my inner world of being to reap.
Casting dead what is so good to have gone,
raising alive that which I had lost,
bringing new life at each dawn,
His kingdom ruling my world of being,
His presence bringing rest and peace.

Time and again He comes past like this,
(terrorising the wicked agonising their mates demise,)
as all His wheels turn into place.
The Word alive in heavenly love.
Costly gifts descending from above.
beholding the temple of the most high,
the truth of His love Himself my Zion.

when you say read the word of God, is there a particular scriptures I should read or are you referring to the Bible in general.

The whole bible is the Word of God and is useful for building ourselves, and each other, up in The Lord. However personally I love the Psalms, it is the bible book that opened my eyes to the possibility of having a living relationship with the Lord. Also an Australian 'gospel' band called The Sons of Korah sing almost exclusively out of the book of Psalms - without altering, subtracting or adding the words like religious 'Psalms' so often do. They along with Sherri Youngward - who sings out of Scripture in general - have grounded me so often I can't even begin to recall all the times their songs told me the truth of God when I needed it. (When I'm depressed or manic I listen to them all the time sing the word of God so I can stay in God's truth and not fall for the lies of my tortured ill mind.)

I found the books of the prophets in the O.T and the book Revelation the most useful in my battle with the wicked, unbelievable how well God knows the evildoers within our existential make up, not one of them will escape hell but in the mean time they will fight like they have never fought before because they know what their ending will be and they shudder such thoughts within us. (See if you can find them within your heart and mind reminding yourself that no willful sinner will inherit the kingdom of God, but that Jesus will save us from being like that before His great and dreadful day.

Understand that election is very much a process that happens within, and that all your holy ones will be killed by the evil in control of your life in the battle against sin, but that your good life will be resurrected by Christ to rule with Him when He comes to liberate your heart and mind with His loving truth.

To give you some idea what I mean that both the wicked and the chosen live within you will present you with some bible pieces that expose the wicked in you but safe the sinner you overcome by them.

In this piece Jesus will purify the hearts of the Levites at His coming - these are those within you who worship God, for you love and believe in The Lord and want to do His will. Yet He will also do away with those in you who are not just and oppress you (the needy suffering and oppressed in you) from within.

Malachi 3:1-5
“I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.

But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years.

“So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,” says the Lord Almighty.

Or have a look at this text in Isaiah, where God has a talk with the evil within you doing the damage in your life. Can you see who Jesus is talking to within your heart and mind? Or does the accuser point the finger at you who love the Lord but can't do it properly because he is around betraying your good intentions and destroying your faith life in God's loving truth all the time? Make sure you to check if you have faith in God's word to teach you, or if you read God's word and let it accuse the suffering sinner and set the willful sinner free. Understand that both you the chosen and the wicked ruling us in sin dwell in the same heart

Isaiah 33:1
Woe to you, destroyer, you who have not been destroyed! Woe to you, betrayer, you who have not been betrayed! When you stop destroying, you will be destroyed; when you stop betraying, you will be betrayed.

Or this piece in Matthew where Jesus is very clearly explaining that religious rules is not what God desires but that we are fair, just and loving unlike those who sit in Moses judgement seat. See if you can find your religious leaders in the shape of your scribes and the pharisees in the image of the Jewish leaders in Jesus' day.

Matthew 23

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.

“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.

“Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’ You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!

“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.

I can go on for years showing you how relevant the word of God is in our hearts, especially when we struggle against the wicked and how its truths destroy the wicked controlling us from behind the scenes and how we who fear for our lives are saved by Christ because He loved us while we are still sinners and laid His life down so that we could gain it.

Like the writer of the book of Hebrews shows us God will cut out all opposition to His truth right out of us.

Hebrews 4:12-13
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Happy reading and happy searching brother, please remember that Jesus knocks on the doors of your heart and that when you open to Him He comes and dines with you. Such is what happens when you let The Word do its mysterious work within your heart and mind spiritually, Jesus will come and set you free from all your (inner) enemies and teach you to overcome the power of depression with the Word of God.

Just curious, I started going to church like 4 weeks ago, ever since then, I have had a few bad things happen. Has anyone else have this happen to them? I have heard other Christians having the same problem but I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem on this forum.

I haven't been able to attend a Church for years going triggers me badly. As for bad experiences I have got them as well, but also good really good ones. If you can find a good bible preaching, God and people loving Church go for it, I highly recommend finding support in your battle, but a lot of so called Christians will blame you and tell you that you haven't got enough faith, or that you should do this or leave that and so on - all religious stuff, best stay away from all that for it is very bad for you health as far as I'm concerned.

The truth of God should set us free - even free to suffer from depression without being judged for it. For allthough there are methods and drugs to ease our suffering - only the Word of God can make us stronger than depression can bring to bear, that is something all together useful when we have a mental illness.

Luckily my Church has stood by me this far, even though I haven't been in ages, they even come and visit me once or twice a year but that is about all I hear or see of my brothers and sisters at the moment. However I have made some very good friends with people attending my Church over the years. Good, reliable, loving and bible trained people humbling walking in the Spirit, who have given me enormous courage to endure the trails, and also forgive Church (Christians) for the shortcomings and sins she(they) has within her(them), as I want to be forgiven for my sins and shortcomings.

One thing I have learned above all and that is to cultivate God's good life into the dirt of our hearts for we will certainly reap the fruits in due season - sometimes thirty, sometimes sixty and some a hundredfold of what we had sown in the first place - talk about increase!

Peace
