  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Question. Is the seven days of unleavened bread after Passover part of Passover? I am asking in relation to Acts 12:1-4. Because if Passover was over and since it was the time of Unleavened Bread when Peter was taken then the translation in the KJV is correct. But if the Seven days of Unleavened Bread is part of Passover then that translation is incorrect.

The Spring Feasts of the L-rd

Passover ( 14th of Nisan)
Feast of Unleavened Bread ( 15th of Nisan)
Feast of first fruits ( of the Barley harvest) ( 16th of Nisan)

Shavuot- Counting of the Omer - Feast of Weeks - ( Pentecost) First Fruits of the Wheat harvest

When looked at from the propsective of the number of feasts it is one of the seven of the L-rd. But since it starts the day after THE Passover it is lumped into one Hol(y)day. This also holds true for the first three feasts of the L-rd, the feast of First fruits which begins on the second day of unleavened bread.

This was the day that Yeshua arose from the grave and had to present Himself to the Father as the First Fruits of the Harvest of those that believed in him. That is why he admonished Miriam not to touch Him when she saw Him in the cemetary, for he had to remain "clean" to present himself before the throne.
After this we know that it was OK to touch him, as Thomas needed to in order to believe.

As anyone can plainly see, and especially since Herod was not Jewish , nor is it believed that Luke was, specifically recording that it was during Passover, ( and this most likely is thought to have happened at least 10 years after Yeshua arose) that Passover was still being celebrated by the Messianic Community.

How could it NOT be? For Yeshua himself said Do THIS in rememberance of me. "THIS" was the Passover Seder, and most specifically the unleavened bread and third cup.
