Passover meal timing

It has been presented that Passover meal has a small windows in which it must be eaten. Between sunset and the dark of night. Given the timing of the first Passover, do you think this detail is important?

It's debatable "how important" the timeline for eating the roasted lamb is now just as it probably was among the scribes, elders, Sadducees and Pharisees 2000 years ago at the time of Yeshua.

Does modern-day Messianic Judaism tend to agree it's a small window of time between sunset and the beginning of the "dark of night" or as in Exodus 12:8-10 over several hours with the "dark of night" being the elapsed time just after the evening twilight including several hours of night time before the morning twilight?

Exodus 12:8-10 ... On this night you must roast the lamb and eat all the meat. You must also eat bitter herbs and bread made without yeast. You must not eat t lamb raw or boiled in water. You must roast the whole lamb over a fire. The lamb must still have its head, legs, and inner parts. You must eat all the meat that night. If any of the meat is left until morning, you must burn it in the fire.​

The Passover moedim has already been fullfilled (also "First Fruits") ... thus no longer a rehearsal. That is unless one is an orthodox Jew that doesn't believe Yeshua Hamashiach (Yeshua Hamashiach: Who is Yeshua? | Jewish Voice) is the slain Passover Lamb to redeem Israel (and mankind) from Adam and Eve's disobedience.

Christendom would contend that all 7 Feasts of the Lord have already been fulfilled ... Trumpets announcing God is with us, Atonement for our sins, Tabernacles indwelling His Spirit in His followers.

• Passover: The Feast of Salvation, which commemorates the Israelites' deliverance from Egypt. Passover takes place on the first full moon of spring.
• Unleavened Bread: A seven-day feast that begins the day after Passover. During this time, Jews eat no leavened bread to remember the hardships of Egypt and God's deliverance.
• Firstfruits: A thanksgiving to God for the firstfruits of the harvest, such as grain and cereal.
• Pentecost: A feast that marks the summer harvest and takes place in late May or early June.
• Trumpets: A feast that takes place in September.
• Day of Atonement: A day when sins committed in the past year are handed over to the Devil. This feast takes place in October.

I can help you with that. First off, how many times has the פסח fulfilled? We see repetition in the מועדי. I won't go over all 8; as I don't want to derail this thread; but yes there are 8. Read the 23 chapter of ויקרא. It starts with שבת. That was fulfilled in the first week of creation; and it will be fulfilled again in the future. Some say that 7 is symbolic of completion; and that 8 is symbolic of renewal.

The מועדי are מקרא. This is commonly understood by Messianics as a rehearsal; and yes, despite not believing in the doctrine that you have accepted, those Messianics (the majority that I have met, from multiple congregations) are still Christians. Dogma was nailed to the pale.

That said, even Strong recognized that מקרא can be defined as rehearsal.

All of the מועדי are to be observed עולם. This means forever.

Again I won't derail this thread by demonstrating the relationship between unfulfilled prophecies, and the מועדי that they will fulfill; but I do believe that I started a thread on that subject in this very forum.

Some Messianic people in the north go by the clock for holidays and Sabbath, The other option is to go by the time of sunset in Israel. Passover is near equinox, so it might not be critical. I have spent Passover with rabbis from Israel, and they started Seder a little early. I guess they were hungry.

Thanks for the link. We had both a shank bone and the rest of the lamb. It was on a sheep farm in the north of Poland with a few dozen people. There were Messianic Jews and Christians, and various other believers of other Christian groups. It was a wonderful time with great food, singing, and the Seder was followed with particular references to how it relates to Christ and His salvation. Shalom
