Oh, it's the title of a book. Man! I was hoping for something controversial I could place my overstated and probably wrong opinion on![]()

Does it involve saving the first kiss until marriage, not going on unsupervised dates, and other cliches?
It also involves what I consider emotional blackmail. I know some may disagree with me, especially since Passion & Purity follows the "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" sort of trend, but I disagree with the premise behind it. Don't let someone know you have feelings for them until you're ready to get hitched, even if that means practically falling off the face of the earth and not even contacting your romantic interest for two years because you don't want them to think you're "getting too involved". I fail to see how this cycle of, "gee, I like spending time with you. Oh, wait, God's telling me to back away. Wait, I'm back. No, I'm dropping out of your life again. Ah, now I'm ready to marry you and confess I love you" spares a person's emotional wellbeing more than being honest.
By no means am I advocating rushing into a commitment, but I don't know how a person could possibly know they want to spend the rest of their life with someone if they never confess a romantic interest until the marriage proposal happens.
