CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I will be praying for you too! I work for the government too, in a civilian appointment, so I understand all too well where you are coming from. I sometimes wonder what in the world goes through the minds of our big bosses at headquarters. I really wonder if the exist in the real world or just one they have created in their imaginations!
Anyway, maybe God has something better in store for you that you just can't see right now! Something that this promotion may not allow you to do. Whatever it is, I pray that you will get answers soon! Hang in there!

Boy, Coastie, I sure can identify with what you're going through. Have been there myself and the feeling is awful especially when you deserve it! Will pray for you and your boss. He needs just as much prayer, too.
Just heard a sermon this afternoon entitled, "When God Says 'NO'." He has a purpose, as I'm sure you already know, for saying, "no." Keep the good faith because God has something better for you. My pastor can tell many stories of what God has done for him when He has said, "no" to his requests. God had other plans for his life and they always ended up to be better than what he even asked for!
Keep looking up and keep the faith!!!

Thanks for the encouragement, I know exactly what God's teaching me here... patience
Seriously though, I was talkign to my dad about his and it seems that he went through the same delimma when he was my age and had some great words of encouragement for me.
It's also very humbling, because I thought I deserved that promotion more than anyone else did because of my scores, but apparently others had higher prioirity.
Oh well, in the meantime, the world keeps spinning on it's axis and I still have a roof over my head. You've got to pick your battles.
