  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

hi everyone, I could use some prayers for patience. I have been passed over, yet again, for promotion. A position that I earned over a year ago, but the promotions for my field were put on hold. Now I'm beginning to think that Head Quarters has forgotten that they put my peers and me on the shelf.

So please pray for me to have patience and to wait silently to get to enjoy what I earned over a year ago.

Hey Zach,
I will definitely keep you in my prayers. You might want to read the thread that solo started in the Devotional, Quiet Times, Testimonies and Journal Forum. The thread is called After God's Silence. I honestly couldn't have read it at a more perfect time in my life as I am in the midst of making some important decisions. It was encouraging and really shifted my thinking with regards to God's timing and such. Read it.....I think you will be encouraged as I was.

Blessings to you!
Your bud,
S&C

Hi Zach,
I will pray for you my friend. This is indeed frustrating and I wish you only the best in life. I pray for you to be surrounded by peace and love. I pray for you to be given the emotional strength and patience to get through any challenges in your career. You have great spiritual strengths deep within yourself, rely on those my friend and you will be just fine. I love you. I am always here for you. Think of this as a potential for growth, a time spent in deep thought with our Lord...you will move mountains. I am praying both for and with you always...Love and blessings to you...
your friend

coastie you're in my prayers.
Sometimes when these type of things happen in my life,
I just figure God must have some other plans for me.
or just doesn't think I'm ready for whatever it is just
yet. We just have to trust, that he knows what he's doing.
And thank him for everything we do have.
Sometimes a promotion can bring on added stress in an
already stressfull life.

keeping you in my prayers!

I'm sorry about that, that must be frustrating.

Maybe you could "gently" remind them that they seemed to imply that there may be a promotion a year ago for sometime in the future. You could put together a list of reasons why you and your peers deserve raises. Have you gotten new responsibilities? That would be a good reason.

As always, try to be respectful no matter how much you might want to get really angry. I'm not saying that that will be your response, but it may get tempting. As strange as it may seem, you probably know that God puts the people who are in charge of you where they are (in charge!).

graftmein,

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

psychmajor,

Thank you too. The nature of my job is to NEVER ask questions of authority. That's why patience and humility are incredibly important qualities. I appreciate you prayers.

One can never have to much help when it comes to patience, you know? :)

God Bless

You're welcome! But I think you need to be respectfully assertive, so that people don't walk all over you. Jesus really stood up to the Pharisees, right? Don't be afraid to question authority, just do it gently.

Zach, I can only tell you what I have discovered in similar situation you have found yourself in. I have discovered myself that in those times when I have had periods of frustrations at work that my daily focus has turned ever so slowly away from God and things that used to be unnoiticed by me suddenly look like giants.
Paul said "I have learned to be content in ALL situations "
when i become discontent/frustrated (and it still happens but for shorter periods) I have learned to stop struggling and wrestling and wearing myself out. I yeild my life completely to God and peace is restored.
The other trigger for me that I use to gage my walk with the Lord is the use of the word "I". when I become aware that this word is comming into my mind and conversation regularly, I know that "me" (my flesh man) is enlarging its rule and I am moving out of submission to God. anyways, just some thoughts..debs

psycmajor,

thanks for the advice, but it's hard to understand my circumstances unless you're in the Military. It is a whole nother world. Well, actually, it's similar to Cuba in that it's a Dictatorship, and I'm not really allowed to second guess the big guys in Washington DC. Thank you though... I know your advice was in love.

Thanks sister, I've pondered your post and I see a lot of wisdom there. God Bless you too, sister.

Gerry,

I've considered that approach, but it doesn't work as well as it used to. :)

I like the cross-check to the shoulder blades approach much better :D
