I find it useful to use "Easter" to refer to the Western-calendar celebration, and "Pascha" to refer to the Orthodox celebration ... esp when talking with my non-Orthodox Christian relatives. :)

Blimey, I forgot about this trick. For our kids, we use the Western date as Easter Bunny day to play the pagan hunt-for-eggs ritual. Of course, that's a problem when there is five weeks between Easter and Pascha, but most years it's a convenient way to dis-connect that rabbit thing from the Feast. My Baptist brother is a bit envious of us on that one. :)

Does your parish church use the word "Easter" or "Pascha" to refer to the celebration of Christ's Holy Resurrection?

And our parish has Fr John's last chance Easter Egg hunt after Pascha Sunday Vespers!

LOL

I think a lot of Orthodox parishes do this - and with the goodies purchased at 50 to 75% off. Good deal for the children and the pocketbooks.
