  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I live in cronic pain and some days it makes being a mom really hard. I just want to take a hot bath, a couple pain pills and hide from the world.

This isn't a reality though since I have Taylor and no one to help me with her.

Is there anyone here who lives in chronic pain and still has to be mom?

 Me!

I developed rheumatoid arthritis when my youngest was just over a year old. The pain is much more under control now, but I still have my days. My kids don't fully understand it, and they get frustrated with me sometimes. "You always have pain, Mom!" Yeah, I know. You think I enjoy it?

Anyway, I know what you mean about wanting to just take some pain meds and go hide away. I still count my blessing though because they do have a good dad who takes care of the roughhousing aspect of parenting.:) I just can't wrestle and tickle and roll around. So, he wrestles with them and I play board games with them. It works for us:)

No, but I can't read a post like that and not at least give out a hug!

It must be very hard.
Thank you.

I see in the thread I started in womens topics that I am not the only one and it could be a lot worse.

I tend to migraines... so on those days when I'm dealing with one, I suck at being a parent. However G-d knew I'd be dealing with migraines and having a large family, so I just have to trust that it'll all work out on those days...

When I was 18 I worked for an answering service and people would call with miagrains and I never had any sympothy because I didn't believe your head could hurt that bad.

Then I had a steriod injection in my back and they tore a hole in my spinal cord so I was leaking fluid. The pain was so bad I was thorwing up. I never had a headache like that in my life.

I was never insensitive to anyone in pain again.
