  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello,
There is a new app that many parents may be interested in. It detects Sexting and porn on a kid's phone or tablet. An alert and a copy of the inappropriate picture is then sent to the parent’s phone when sexting, porn or NSFW images are detected. The app is installed on both the parent's and kid's phone or tablet and it cannot be uninstalled or turned off without a parent’s password.

You can get a 7-day free trial on Google Play Store. It can be found by searching Google Play for "iBucci" and click the first app that comes up called “MoVi Parental Monitoring”.

I believe this app may be helpful for those concerned about these growing issues with unsupervised Internet access by adolescents.

That page goes nowhere and that app doesn't come up...

To anyone reading this: I don't want to assign motive to a creator/company, but you want to be very careful with apps that purport to do things like this, especially when it pertains to sending personal data over the internet. You can't guarantee what does and doesn't get stored or seen by the servers in the process.

Good point but this app uses peer to peer network technology and does not permanently store any information about the child or any pictures on a server. It is COPPA (Child Online Privacy Protection Act) compliant. The child and parent phones are authenticated together and pictures forwarded directly to the parent phone and they are also blurred (obfuscated) before being sent to the parent for additional protection. Finally, there is no information to sell to other parties and our privacy policy states this as well. MoVi was developed by parents, for parents and for the right reasons.

As a retired programmer, I understand that those apps commonly screen for too much skin color. Have you been able to track the broader range of skin color?

The reason I ask is because...
HP looking into claim webcams can't see black people - CNN.com
The Best Algorithms Still Struggle to Recognize Black Faces
MORE...
The MoVi app recognizes all ethnicities and is extremely accurate. The machine learning model (CNN) was trained specifically for the application (including a focus on different ethnicities) and is proprietary, which is why it is so good at what it does. Try the app out for free, I think you will be pleased at how well it works.
