  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello....:)

MT 13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

MT 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

MT 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

MT 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

MT 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

MT 13:53 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

MT 21:45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

MT 22:1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,.......

I consider the parables of Christ very important...Feel free and welcome to discuss the parables of Christ..K3

Ahh...CF beat me to the parable of the sower..:)

I am glad you have posted in my thread. My purpose is to intrepret and gain a deeper understanding of the parables..

Jesus said...ref?I will open my mouth in parables and utter things hidden since before the creation of the world.

Let's think about that statement by Christ Jesus...What does it mean to those in this thread?

My eisgesis and intrepretation is that Christ Jesus is truly God. On the last of the statement..I *think* Christ Jesus is the Father of Abraham, since he stated since before the creation of the world..

I many references and verses to substantiate my point which I will likely do.

So you do you guys think that statement by Jesus means?

I like this passage:

And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?" He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand."

I used to believe that Jesus used the parables to help us understand the things of the Kingdom of Heaven, but this scripture implies the opposite -- it's precisely to keep the worldly from understanding! That's why we have symbolic dreams -- so that the flesh will not understand what God is speaking to our spirits as we sleep, for the message is to be spiritually discerned. The more I understand the language God uses in my dreams, the wider it all opens up, just like with the parables. Each symbol contains different depths of meaning that we cannot understand by just looking at the surface. The more we understand of the ways of God, the more we can understand about the parables in the Bible, and the more we can also understand about the different parables that God uses both day and night to speak to us.

celebrating His wisdom......

How about the ones that He does not give an explanation for? There is this one that I know the meaning of but keep thinking there is something deeper and perhaps prophetic about the numbers of years etc... Luke 13:6-9

He also spoke this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, 'Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?' But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.' "

------

The parables of Jesus are so hard to interpret and even understand with even the guidance of Spirit. What I >*think*< Jesus is saying the parable is the "fig tree" can be a Christian. And His reference to the "keeper of the vineyard" is reference to Father who is the true vine. If said Christian does not bear fruit "fig tree" the tree is be cut down. Notice He said "year", meaning patience.

That was real "thinking man" pose for me.
