CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Cause opinion doesn't make a band talented, k?
You might think a band is talented and like them, but that doesn't mean they are talented.
I listen to some bands that I realize have little talent, doesn't mean I don't like them though.

Look, I hate to sound mean here, but he DID have a right to say that Papa Roach wasn't very good. It's his opinion, and he's entitled to express it. Just like you're entitled to say that you love that band. Part of having an opinion is that people are bound to disagree with it, and part of the fun of liking something is saying why you like it. Instead of getting all mad and saying that people don't have a right to "insult" your favorite bands, try debating that with them. Rather than "You don't have a right to say they suck," try saying something like "Well, I like them. Their lyrics are great" or whatever reason/reasons you can come up with. Trust me, debating whether or not a band is good is half the fun of liking them.

hmm, maybe that was too long ago.
see, some time ago, myself and a few other members of these parts united against poor grammar in posts, first, it was just random, then, it turned into full blown posts about horrible typing etiquette, it even spawned a short-lived user by the name of Grammer Police.

I never really paid any attention to Papa roach , i wrote them off as a Rap rock Limpbizkit wanna be one hit wonder years ago. I was actually surprised by the new "Paramour sessions" cd. It has some cliche radio rock ballads (a la Nickleback) but some of the songs were actually pretty good. Scars is a good song.
