  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there --

Im a 30 year old Christian woman..my life story is crazy in terms of how far I've come but I was offered an internship with palliative care at a children's hospital.
I NEVER imagined working at a hospital or with end of life care so this was a pretty big offer.

Hoping someone can offer their insight or experiences with working in this field.

Thanks!

On the matter of pain and suffering you may find the following useful:

No where in Scripture are we promised a life of bliss on earth before our final glorification. Our Lord was a Man of Sorrows (Isaiah 53:3). He had no place to call His own and He suffered for our sins without having any sin of His own. Therefore, we should be full of joy when we suffer, for in our suffering we participate in a small way as our Lord suffered for us. See also Romans 5:3-10.
