The Justice Department has charged a Pakistani man who has alleged ties to the Iranian government with seeking to carry out political assassinations, a case that prompted the US government to increase security for former President Donald Trump and other officials, according to court documents unsealed Tuesday.

FBI investigators believe that Trump and other current and former US government officials were the intended targets of the plot, a US official briefed on the matter said.

Asif Merchant, 46, is accused of traveling to New York City and working with a hit man to carry out the assassinations in late August or early September, according to charges filed by federal prosecutors in Brooklyn, New York.

Looks like the guy violated 18 U.S.C. § 1958 and section 2, which deal with hit men, and violent offenses. Hopefully, Asif gets many years in jail.

Not really so insane, when one considers all the persons ... around the world ... that don't want Donald Trump to return to the Office of the President.

America has her enemies. And Trump stands in fierce opposition to what the Democrat Party wants for America. But also, he stands in opposition to the new world order agenda that many powerful globalist elites are presently working very hard to implement. As President, he would be an obstacle to their plans. Biden was not an obstacle to them; Harris will not be an obstacle to them; but Donald Trump would be. So, his enemies are many.
