Painkiller?

One of the new games that I've been watching for and readin' a bit whenever there's a blurb in my gaming mags is Painkiller.

From what I understand of the storyline, the game seems to play almost as a Spawn-type plot except from the other side. You play as a man who dies in a car accident with your wife but while she enters heaven you are sent back to earth as an enforcer for heaven.

I'm wondering what sorta vibes anyone else is getting off of this game and what your opinions might be on it's subject matter. I rarely look at games and discard them because of their content (well, GTA is right out though) but I'm curious as to:
a) the full storyline (I've only read blurbs here and there)
b) what sort of gaming we're looking at
and c) what sort of Christian/non-Christian messages are being displayed here.

its a FPS...you cant expect much...

b) what sort of gaming we're looking at

serious sam style of gamplay. smooth, and wave after waves of enimie's, and you get cool power ups and such.

c) what sort of Christian/non-Christian messages are being displayed here.

its christian esque so far. but i still am not really up to date with everything on the game. mostly just the gameplay.

I was going to download the demo, but then got sidetracked and got a couple of movies instead... I don't download too much since I have only 56K. To me the whole premise sounded interesting, but I'm afraid they'll probably drench it gore and senseless violence. I'm not a fan of either of those, but I hope I'm wrong.


As for the (non)/Christian, I'm not sure since I haven't played it. I would assume that it would make good and evil on an equal plain for starters. Hmm, do I perhaps read too much into games? Do they really intend them to go into the theological/philisophical or is it by accident in them wanting to have an interesting idea? And even if it was by accident should we still not look at it as if they was on purpose?

It's very nostalgic in terms of graphics and gameplay to Quake. The loading screens have pentegrams and such, so if you have issues with that sort of thing, you might not like those being there.
