For some reason, ever since ash wed, my forehead has been really hurting where I got the ashes rubbed on. It is sensitive to the touch. Has this every happened to anyone else? Maybe I'm allergic?

ukok said:i have a confession to make ~ Wednesday morning i woke up with another migraine, i felt sick and was determined that i would go to Mass that night and receive the ashes upon my forehead....in addition to tablet medication i used a new product that has recently come on to the market in the UK, it's called 'forehead' and you rub it over your..you guessed it...forehead....anyway, eventually the pain subsided significantly and i got ready to go to Mass. I went up for the ashes, and my daughter was directly behind me in the line . Later as we left church my daughter said "Mum, what was in those ashes, my forehead's really stinging!'...then it dawned on me that i had been using this medicated stick thing all day and though i had had a bath before Mass, i had reapplied it in case the pains came back and spoilt my enjoyment of Mass, some of it must have been dispersed in the ashes on which the priest placed the ashes on others....i'll know next time not to use it!
I'm not saying this happened to you, but i know that's why my daughters forhead stung after receiving the ashes... hey, you weren't behind my daughter that evening were you!

ChoirDir said:Hmmmm.... Allergic to ashes? Maybe they should come up with Hypo-allergenic ashes
carry on..........Maybe it is like the Saint who got that ugly sore when he/she asked to share Jesus suffering.
By the way I am clueless as to which saint that is or if that is even a true story
